Titanic had a sister ship called RMS Olympic that was only slightly smaller. While 1500 people died in the Titanic sinking, 700 people survived. A novel published in 1896 predicted circumstances eerily similar to the Titanic disaster, telling of a ship called the "Titan" hitting an iceberg, raising questions if the author uncannily predicted the future. The Titanic received six ice warnings on the day it sank.
