The document discusses how God works through human weaknesses. It notes that weaknesses keep people from being prideful and force reliance on God's power. The Bible verses presented show that God's strength is made perfect in weakness. When people are weak, they can experience God's strength. The document urges realizing the need for God's power in life and letting His power work through people with faith.
Our security is based on who Jesus is and what Jesus has done; not who we are or what we do. Throughout the gospel of John we see that to have faith in Jesus is to have eternal life. So if we begin there and end there there is really nothing to worry about as we are securely in Jesus's and the Father's hands.

This document discusses how Christians are called to endure challenges and difficulties as part of carrying their cross. It provides several biblical references and quotes that convey how God uses trials to strengthen one's faith and character. Christians should not complain about the trials they face, as God is preparing them through difficulties for what is ahead. The overall message is that believers must be willing to carry their cross by enduring hardships as part of their sanctification process.
The document discusses identity and how humanity's identity was lost through sin but restored through Jesus Christ. Jesus fulfilled all righteousness and through his death and resurrection reconciled humanity to God, restoring our lost identity and bringing his peace.
The document discusses the interpretation of Ezekiel's vision of the temple. It presents options for interpreting the temple symbolically as representing the church, literally as depicting the millennial kingdom, or literally as what the temple system could have been. Key details mentioned are that the level of specification in Ezekiel's vision mirrors that of the tabernacle, and that the vision was intended to shame Israel for their sins and ensure they follow God's decrees.
The passage discusses the apostle Paul's journey to knowing Christ and gaining righteousness through faith rather than works. Paul considers all things a loss compared to knowing Christ and being found in Him. He presses on towards this goal, forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead, to attain the resurrection and win the prize God has called him to in heaven.

I created these slides from notes, thoughts and scriptures I had from the past few years for inspiration out of personal experiences and I hope that these slides will be a blessing to someone else.
The psalmist prays fervently to God for strength and protection from enemies, longing to visit the holy temple. The psalmist asks God to send truth and light to guide them to God's place of dwelling. Though feeling cast down, the psalmist vows to praise God as their savior and redeemer. The prayer concludes by glorifying God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
This document discusses the concept of trust in God. It defines trust as belief, confidence, and reliance. Trusting in God means believing that He is our creator, provider, healer, and deliverer based on what is revealed about Him in scripture. The document encourages placing full reliance and dependence on God, as Daniel and others did when facing danger. It suggests getting to know God through reading His word and communing with Him in order to strengthen trust based on experience. Overall, the key message is that to truly trust is to believe in God's power, character, and faithfulness as revealed in the Bible.
The bread of life discourse is not where Jesus institutes the Lord's Supper, though the truth underlying the Lord's Supper is present. Rather, this passage from John 6 relates to having communion with God through Jesus (ie. fellowship with) more than partaking of the elements of communion (the Lord's Supper). When we have communion with God we learn to trust Him despite having some unanswered questions, and we discover that He is enough, whether the material blessings are there or not. Jesus is God's provision for life, both now and eternally.

This document discusses the blessings of dwelling in God's house and having one's strength and heart set in God. It expresses that by seeking and worshipping God, who is holy, one will go from strength to strength until seeing God face to face. It asks God, who is almighty and holy, to bless the land as people worship him.

The document describes Zechariah encountering the angel Gabriel, who tells him that his wife Elizabeth will bear a son named John, despite their old age. When Zechariah doubts the angel's message, he is made unable to speak until John's birth. The document also discusses the meaning and importance of Advent, referring to passages about waiting, expecting, and maturing in one's faith until the coming of the Lord.
This document discusses rooting more deeply into hope through faith in God. It begins by quoting passages from Romans that discuss how through faith we are made right with God and given hope through the Holy Spirit. It then defines hope as an optimistic state of mind about desired future outcomes. The document contrasts easy hope, which is surface level, with hard hope, which requires deeper roots and patient effort. It encourages rooting into the fountain of hope that God has placed within believers, which gives a good future outlook even in difficult times. Drinking from this fountain of hope causes relaxation and seeing beyond present struggles.
Jesus teaches that he is the true vine and believers are the branches. Just as branches must remain connected to the vine to bear fruit, believers must remain in Jesus. Those who remain in Jesus and have his words abide in them will bear much fruit and can ask God for anything. Jesus commands his followers to love one another as he has loved them, even laying down his life for his friends. He calls them friends because he has revealed to them everything God has told him.
Peter and John healed a crippled beggar at the temple gate, causing thousands to believe the message of Jesus. The priests and Sadducees arrested Peter and John for preaching about Jesus' resurrection but could not deny the miracle. Peter boldly proclaimed that salvation comes only through Jesus. They were threatened but refused to stop preaching in Jesus' name.
Throughout John’s gospel, Jesus has repeatedly spoken to us of life, especially eternal life. Yet the his disciples and the people still don’t really understand that he is the Son of God. In this last of the seven signs John shows us that Jesus is truly the Son of God and has power over death. The question is whether we believe. If we believe, we will never die.
This document contains excerpts from the Bible discussing faith and the future. Hebrews 13 encourages having faith in God rather than fearing people. Hebrews 12 says to run the race of life with endurance, fixing eyes on Jesus. James 4 warns that people should not presume what tomorrow will bring and instead say "if the Lord wills." Revelation 21 describes God making all things new and wiping away tears in heaven. Philippians 3 says to forget the past and press on toward perfection through Christ.

This document summarizes key lessons from the biblical story of the widow with oil from 2 Kings 4:1-7. It discusses five lessons: 1) God can work with what little we have; 2) Little can become much when blessed by God; 3) Faith and works go hand in hand, as seen when the widow obeyed Elisha; 4) Pay debts and live within your means; 5) Share blessings to be a miracle for others, as the widow's oil multiplied. The overall message is that God can provide breakthrough when we are facing difficulties and dead ends, through increasing our faith and obedience.

If we think of doing God’s work, we may think of establishing churches, leading people to the Lord, or going on mission. However, some people asked Jesus what it means to do God’s work. Jesus Christ said that believing that what God has sent is doing God’s work. But how can we link believing with doing God’s work? This is what this chapter is about to discuss. We can know from the discussion that if God thinks you believe in Him, you will do His work. Because He wants to do is impossible without faith, but if we have faith, there must be corresponding actions
This document discusses the spiritual rebirth process described in Alma 5. It contains quotes that say spiritual rebirth is not instantaneous but occurs gradually as one becomes alive to spiritual realities through repentance. It also affirms that Alma knew the truth of these things through revelation from the Holy Spirit after fasting and praying to know for himself.

Lucid Dreaming: Understanding the Risks and Benefits
The ability to control one's dreams or for the dreamer to be aware that he or she is dreaming. This process, called lucid dreaming, has some potential risks as well as many fascinating benefits. However, many people are hesitant to try it initially for fear of the potential dangers. This article aims to clarify these concerns by exploring both the risks and benefits of lucid dreaming.
The Benefits of Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreaming allows a person to take control of their dream world, helping them overcome their fears and eliminate nightmares. This technique is particularly useful for mental health. By taking control of their dreams, individuals can face challenging scenarios in a controlled environment, which can help reduce anxiety and increase self-confidence.
Addressing Common Concerns
Physical Harm in Dreams Lucid dreaming is fundamentally safe. In a lucid dream, everything is a creation of your mind. Therefore, nothing in the dream can physically harm you. Despite the vividness and realness of the dream experience, it remains entirely within your mental landscape, posing no physical danger.
Mental Health Risks Concerns about developing PTSD or other mental illnesses from lucid dreaming are unfounded. As soon as you wake up, it's clear that the events experienced in the dream were not real. On the contrary, lucid dreaming is often seen as a therapeutic tool for conditions like PTSD, as it allows individuals to reframe and manage their thoughts.
Potential Risks of Lucid Dreaming
While generally safe, lucid dreaming does come with a few risks as well:
Mixing Dream Memories with Reality Long-term lucid dreamers might occasionally confuse dream memories with real ones, creating false memories. This issue is rare and preventable by maintaining a dream journal and avoiding lucid dreaming about real-life people or places too frequently.
Escapism Using lucid dreaming to escape reality can be problematic if it interferes with your daily life. While it is sometimes beneficial to escape and relieve the stress of reality, relying on lucid dreaming for happiness can hinder personal growth and productivity.
Feeling Tired After Lucid Dreaming Some people report feeling tired after lucid dreaming. This tiredness is not due to the dreams themselves but often results from not getting enough sleep or using techniques that disrupt sleep patterns. Taking breaks and ensuring adequate sleep can prevent this.
Mental Exhaustion Lucid dreaming can be mentally taxing if practiced excessively without breaks. It’s important to balance lucid dreaming with regular sleep to avoid mental fatigue.
Lucid dreaming is safe and beneficial if done with caution. It has many benefits, such as overcoming fear and improving mental health, and minimal risks. There are many resources and tutorials available for those interested in trying it.
Astronism, Cosmism and Cosmodeism: the space religions espousing the doctrine...Cometan
This lecture created by Brandon Taylorian (aka Cometan) specially for the CESNUR Conference held Bordeaux in June 2024 provides a brief introduction to the legacy of religious and philosophical thought that Astronism emerges from, namely the discourse on transcension started assuredly by the Cosmists in Russia in the mid-to-late nineteenth century and then carried on and developed by Mordecai Nessyahu in Cosmodeism in the twentieth century. Cometan also then provides some detail on his story in founding Astronism in the early twenty-first century from 2013 along with details on the central Astronist doctrine of transcension. Finally, the lecture concludes with some contributions made by space religions and space philosophy and their influences on various cultural facets in art, literature and film.
