•   Joined the Electricity Metering Division - MeterCaT development team to assist in the re-architecture of
    their Meter Configuration Tool for ABB’s A3 Alpha Meter. During this time I built various proof-of-
    concept prototypes that demonstrated the feasibility of using C++, Visual Basic and Microsoft COM to
    expose a public interface to their manufacturing division. I also made various COM and cross-compiler
    support changes to their A3 Meter Task Engine (A3MTE) which acted as middle-ware between MeterCaT
    and their low-level API (Meter Tools) for configuring and reading from the physical meter.

•   Encompassed a broad and varied range of achievements ranging from administration to programming to
    team leader. Responsibilities included being the software architect, team leader and mentor, design and
    development within all aspects of warehouse management system and shop floor control system, common
    database access layer API, radio frequency terminal API, thermal printer drivers, and the text-to-GUI user
    interface facelift client application.
•   Warehouse Management System cross-platform development under UNIX and Windows 95-NT.
•   End-to-end Manufacturing/Shop Floor Control with web browser & C++ Builder presentation.
•   Web-based text-to-GUI presentation client (Visual C++ Professional, C++ Builder, and Java);
    • A cross-platform network client that communicated with a HP-UX host application one-on-one over
         a bi-directional TCP/IP socket, to facelift legacy text-based screens to the end-user into an interactive
         GUI presentation. The client used a custom INET service/socket to communicate optimally over the
         Internet or intranet, including automatic versioning and distribution, extensive intelligent buffering for
         performance, and ZLIB compression/decompression. The production client was written under Visual
C++ primarily along side a Java Swing version. The HP-UX server side included a cross-platform
        back-end which communicated one-on-one with a client instance and was intelligent enough to
        incarnate the GUI under UNIX, Linux and Windows in various configurations using the GTK+
        toolkit. The client was deployed, installed, automatically updated and invoked via any web browser
        against an Apache web server.
