Tim Berners-Lee is a British computer scientist born in 1955 in London. He invented the World Wide Web in 1990 while working at CERN, looking for a way for scientists to share information more easily. His parents were mathematicians who encouraged his interest in science from a young age. He studied physics at Oxford and had experience working in electronics. He was interested in building computers as a child. His goal in creating the World Wide Web was to make information accessible to everyone.
