What should I do for immigration?
I feel with this sensitive topic of immigration we should all try to find tsome common
ground. I know in reality that will not work, each political group or political organization seems
to have their own agenda for immigration. We should make the whole immigration process
easier. Maybe if we make sure there is not as much paper work, then maybe we will not have as
many illegal immigrants coming into this country. I feel that the process is too long.
However, I do feel that there should be several interviews during this process. Maybe if
we would had more interviews, there might not have been as many terrorists coming into this
country. The American Embassies could give this vital information on to the FBI, CIA, and the
Homeland Security. If we could have made it more difficult for the terrorists to enter into this
country, then we could have saved countless innocent Americans lives. When you see a new
picture on the news of someone trying to plot against us, you think they just look bad. Imagine
what the American Embassies would think after meeting with them a few times, and reading
their body language.
Sometimes as Americans we take for granted our everyday freedoms. In some countries
they are not as fortunate as we are to have our freedoms. These immigrants from these countries
will try to be granted political asylum for in America. It takes up to one hundred-and eighty
days time period during which an asylum application is been pending. Once you have been in
the U.S. for a whole year, you may apply for a green card (U. Citizenship and Immigration
2. Services- The 180 – Day Asylum EAD). I feel that this part of the process of becoming a
citizen is too long. You cannot blame the people what is happening in their country. So much
could happen in a year and half while they would wait to be granted political asylum.
