Mr. Thompson has 33-years of experience supporting the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community in
operations, acquisitions, systems engineering and leadership. His experience includes 20 years of direct support to
National Security Space Systems across Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance, Satellite Operations, Launch,
and Space Control Mission Areas. In his current position with the Principal DoD Space Advisor Staff (PDSAS), he
serves as a Space Control subject matter expert. He has supported the execution of three Space Control
Capabilities Based Assessments leading to Joint Services Oversight Council validated Initial Capabilities Documents.
In support of Headquarters Air Force Operation Directorate, Mr. Thompson was designated lead on developing,
defending, and justifying budgets for air, space, and cyber programs. His experience as an active duty Air Force
Officer includes assignments at the National Reconnaissance Office, Headquarters Air Force, and Headquarters Air
Force Space Command supporting both current and future space programs.

Mr. Thompson acts as the Technical Director for the PDSAS SETA Support Contract and as Space Control and
Space Situational Awareness subject matter expert
▪ Supported Space Posture Review, six Program Assessments (2010-2015) focused on Space Control Capabilities
and programs in support of OSD Program Budget Reviews, numerous RMD directed studies, and two
Government Audit Agency studies on SSA Operations; Assisted in OSD AT&L IIPTs for Space Fence and JSpOC
Mission System Led SETA team in support of the Executive Agent for Space Staff activities;

▪ Supported SSA Capabilities Based Assessment (CBA), researched and documented existing baseline
requirements, foreign and commercial capabilities and concepts and supported functional integration teams
capability assessments; first comprehensive review of SSA mission area in 7 years resulted in Joint Requirements
Oversight Council (JROC) approved SSA ICD identifying 10 overarching mission gaps and 15 proposed
