A Boston-based VC and his family, including his wife and dog The Beast, recently moved to NYC. For the past two years, the VC had been a "bridge and tunnel investor", spending a few days a month in NYC while living in Boston. Data showed his firm was evaluating more NYC-based companies. This year, his team reviewed the data and he committed to move to NYC, not because of sports but because: 1) NYC has a strong entrepreneurial community, 2) large tech companies are setting up shops there, 3) NYC has tech leaders in various verticals, and 4) there is broad macro support for entrepreneurs.
