The Grateful Dead played their "Fare Thee Well" mini-tour in Santa Clara to mark what was supposed to be their final tour with the four surviving band members and three companions. During the 3.5 hour performance, they played both popular songs and more obscure pieces from their early years. The band struggled initially in the second half but regained energy after tackling the song "St. Stephen". While the band members say their July 5th performance will be their last together, each has their own musical projects and some have teamed up for other gigs, so the community and culture around the Grateful Dead is expected to continue.

Wililiam Clark's 1806 Route Over Green Mountain Pass, Gallatin County, Montana
Archaeological and historical research was conducted in 2005 in the Green Mountain area east of Bozeman, Montana. The research revealed evidence of continuous use of the area as a travel corridor for over 5,000 years. Prehistoric habitation and tool production sites were discovered as well as the routes used by William Clark in 1806 and the Bozeman Trail from 1864 to 1868. Military trails from Fort Ellis dating from 1867 to 1886 and late 19th and early 20th century wagon and stage roads were also identified. This multi-disciplinary project documented the long-term use of the same general travel corridor through the area for prehistoric peoples and historic explorers and settlers.

Wililiam Clark's 1806 Route Over Green Mountain Pass, Gallatin County, Montana
Archaeological and historical research was conducted in 2005 in the Green Mountain area east of Bozeman, Montana. The research revealed evidence of continuous use of the area as a travel corridor for over 5,000 years. Prehistoric habitation and tool production sites were discovered as well as the routes used by William Clark in 1806 and the Bozeman Trail from 1864 to 1868. Military trails from Fort Ellis dating from 1867 to 1886 and late 19th and early 20th century wagon and stage roads were also identified. This multi-disciplinary project documented the long-term use of the same general travel corridor through the area for prehistoric peoples and historic explorers and settlers.
