All organisations including the NHS are required to comply with both environmental and waste legislation. If organisations do not comply with legislation
the Environment Agency could prosecute. It is important to note that all staff have a legal Duty of Care requirement to ensure that they dispose of their
waste in a safe and correct manner.
Any Waste Management Policy must contain objectives designed to ensure it complies with waste management legislation and that it manages
waste in a cost efficient way.
