Salsa Dancing and the body
The salsa is a Latin based dance that has become very popular globally. The term
salsa was coined in New York because of how many different regions had an effect
on it. Meaning that like the many ingredients in salsa dip, the dance has many
different origins. Many different countries and dance styles took their moves to
Mexico and in all of them banded together into what is now the upbeat sexy salsa
we know today. Salsa music and dance unites so many different styles, it has African
drums, Columbian, Cuban and Spanish styles. It really is a ‘salsa’ of music and dance.
Not to mention it is one of the sexiest dance styles out there.
Salsa music is not only popular for its great variety and background. It has found its
seat in the “health” department too. With many people coming back to exercise and
a healthy body, it’s no wonder so many turn to the Salsa. If you have ever so much as
danced at a party you know how much of a workout it is. While you may not have
noticed while you were doing it, you probably noticed the next morning when you
couldn't move your legs. Salsa dancing is more than just party dancing. Unlike
regular dancing that primarily targets your legs and arms, Salsa dancing targets
nearly every muscle region in your body. From your hamstrings to your heart, you
can expect to get the most out of your workout when doing the salsa. Not only is it
muscle targeting but also flexibility building. Improving flexibility improves blood
flow. If you are a couch potato you will be surprised what this does for your mood
and health.
So not only does Salsa dancing make you feel sexy it helps you to look sexy too.
Unlike going to the gym and lifting weights or going on a sweaty job in baggy
sweatpants, salsa makes people feel sexy when they do it, while making your body
look sexy. It really is a double threat. 30 minutes of doing the Salsa can burn up
between 175-250 calories. So if you do the salsa for 2 hours you will be burning half
