The Road Not Taken
by Robert Frost
This poem is one of the popular poems through history,
everyone should be familiar with it.
This poem is one of the approved ones for teaching literature
in high schools.
The Theme of the poem “The Road Not Taken” is so interesting
and important to introduce for students.
The most important reason for choosing this poem is that I
really like and enjoy reading and teaching it.

• Summative Assessment
Problem Solving: It means: 1. identifying a problem and its
solution or, 2. identifying a problem and suggesting a solution
of your own, based on the available information.
Uncovering Motives: It means: 1. identifying the motives
(reasons) for the character’s behavior. 2. Supporting this with
evidence from the text.
Stanza: it is a group of lines, which form a unit in a poem.
Setting: refers to the place and time in which the events in a
story or a poem occur.
Metaphor: it is a type of comparison in which one thing is
described as if it is something else. For example: Life is a bowl
of cherries.
Rhyme: is the use of words with a similar sound, often at the
ends of lines of poetry. For example:
The woods are lovely, dark and deep
But I have promises to keep.
