The Polar Bear is the largest land carnivore, typically standing 1.5 meters tall and weighing up to 950 kilos. They live in coastal areas of the Arctic around Russia, Alaska, Greenland, and Norway, preferring the polar zone. Polar Bears hunt seals, fish, whales, and sometimes even other Polar Bears or their young. However, they are currently endangered due to global warming melting the ice over waters where they hunt, forcing them to swim long distances without success or drown. To help the Polar Bear, humans must take steps to prevent further global warming such as recycling, reducing energy and waste, and using less polluting forms of transportation.
