New body culture is a mega trend, inner and outer fashion, smart drugs, anti aging and new fabrics in fashion is just a few things that's happening in the future
We drop out of fashion
The world around us seems sometimes totally out of control, our lack of ability to catch it and being here and now is difficult. Naturally we come to a point where we feel loose of control and everything feels as a giant chaotic state. We stop and drop out. The capability to grip disappears. Most people drop out of fashion, music, film or digital trends at one point. We tune out and our kids tune in, soon they are also turning out. Their kids continue this merry goes round in a faster and faster way than before. Not unlike the wheel of life and death, this spins around and every time we believe that we see, hear or feel new things. But this, but this is far from the truth. And how many parents have not shaken their heads while the youngest turns up the volume to 11. Parents who scream out; turn of that noise off, you call it music? Its dam noise”, forgetting that they heard the same thing from their parents.
Where is the borderline between young, old, hippies or punks?
The difference between young and old, hippies or punk, local or global culture get mixed and melt different cultural elements together. We are more adaptable than ever, like chameleons we change, adopt and paste into every situation we face, anywhere at any time. A walking global media unit, receive, sending and sort out information faster and faster. This is a highly dangerous development, everybody needs to disconnect from time to time, but try to take away from whomever the mobile phone and laptop for a week, you will after a day or two see a pale, uncomfortable and highly restless person. If the mobile phone was the modern cigarette Smartphones are the new Heroin, you get highly addicted, but not the same abstinent physical illness.
About a week ago day on the tram this young, drunk and homeless boy sit next to me and talk to everyone and he screams out that he did not understand much about it all. I replied as I sat next to him that it was good to hear because I do not understand anything as well. What do I know?
I was thinking what do I really know? And I got this lost feeling that everything happening around me is unreal. One see and read all the news about education, terror, war, friends, social media, jobs not jobs, the terrorists in Afghanistan the war in Iraq, Steak or Sushi for dinner, red or blue, Athens or Rome, Facebook or Twitter, blog or web site? And then I just get dizzy.
There are so many choices. When I start thinking like this I feel that I am totally losing the grip into the big chaos that surrounds me.

This document discusses key concepts related to culture from a sociology textbook chapter. It defines culture as the knowledge, language, values, and material objects shared by a group and passed down over generations. Culture includes both material and symbolic elements. Language, values, norms, and symbols are identified as important components of culture that facilitate communication and shape thought. The chapter also explores variations in culture, including dominant, subcultures, and countercultures. It distinguishes between ideal and real culture and discusses factors influencing cultural change.

Evolutionary leadership for sustainabilitySarah Verwei
The document discusses evolutionary leadership for sustainability and new definitions of leadership. It explores concepts like the Art of Hosting, Design Thinking, systems thinking, and systems feeling. The goal is to cultivate community, create shared understanding, and prototype new possibilities through collaboration. Evolutionary leadership is described as embodying systems being and creating new realities by intentionally shaping the future and participating in creating new circumstances. The document advocates developing a sense of syntony by tuning into useful frequencies, changing course, and navigating through chaos to align with sustainable patterns of change.
The document discusses trends in the jewelry industry and consumer preferences. It covers topics like sustainability becoming more important to consumers, especially younger generations; a demand for customization, unique designs, and storytelling from brands; an emphasis on transparency around sourcing and supply chains; and a focus on experiences over just products. Emerging trends mentioned include solo traveling, nostalgia, using technology to provide escapism, and designing with empathy and compassion. The trends suggest consumers want brands that align with their values and provide meaningful products and stories.
This document discusses culture change and the role of teachers as culture brokers. It makes the following key points:
1. Culture is the set of shared values, beliefs, and norms that guide the thinking and behaviors of members of an organization. Culture is continually changing both materially and non-materially.
2. Teachers can act as culture brokers to bridge differences between their own culture and their students' cultures. This involves acquiring cultural knowledge, facilitating strategic learning approaches, and creating opportunities for critical dialogue.
3. As managers and future principals, being sensitive to cultural symbols and changing underlying messages is important for effectively bridging cultural gaps and influencing culture change in a school.
This document provides an overview of key concepts in sociology. It discusses how sociology studies society and human behavior. Sociologists believe people's daily lives shape the world and that diversity influences society. The document also outlines different social sciences like anthropology, psychology, and economics. It introduces sociological perspectives and important thinkers in the field like Comte, Marx, Durkheim, and Weber. Students will be assigned to research groups on these influential sociologists and present their contributions creatively to the class.

The document discusses culture and its influence on multinational management. It defines culture and identifies its basic components, such as shared beliefs, norms, values and symbols. It also discusses different levels of culture, including national, business and organizational culture. Several models for understanding cultural differences are presented, including Hofstede's model of cultural dimensions and how they influence areas like leadership, decision-making and human resources practices in organizations. Key cultural dimensions discussed are power distance, uncertainty avoidance, individualism/collectivism, masculinity and long vs. short-term orientation.
The Ageing Revolution - Shifting the Perceptions of Ageing Simon Lowe

Anthropologists conduct participant observation by living with cultural groups for extended periods to become fully accepted and immerse themselves in the local way of life. They compile detailed field notes through ethnographic field work which includes conducting interviews and collecting statistics. Anthropologists aim to avoid ethnocentrism and instead understand other cultures based on their own cultural values and concepts like kinship, which is culturally defined by marriage, birth and adoption. They view cultures as constantly evolving and believe most changes are gradual, occurring through invention, discovery and diffusion of ideas between societies.
Culture is everywhere we look, and (perhaps more importantly) everywhere we don’t look. It informs our work, our purchases, our usage, our expectations, our comfort, and our communications (indeed, if you aren’t familiar with a specific geographic and historical set of experiences, the presumably clever title for this talk will instead be perhaps bland). In this presentation, Steve will explore the ways we can experience, observe, and understand diverse cultures to foster successful collaborations, usable products, and desirable experiences.
Can we predict anything about the future?
“A friend said the future is the present. If you really are curious about the future, just study the present. Only those who have learned to perceive the present can predict the future. They need only predict what has already happened by being the first to see through pattern recognition. For the future is the future present.” Marshall McLuhan
A reality check can tell us something about the future. A well-known media guru of the last century said that only by understanding the present there is possible to say something about the future. The world is moving so fast, if stopping for a second we suddenly feel uncomfortable. Nevertheless, only when taking things easy and take a break one have the possibility to perceive the world free of the clutter and not chaotic, confused, restless or out of control. Life is unpredictable therefore do not interfere with the natural flow of the thing. The world is a chaotic state; we try so hard control the uncontrollable. Soon we lack behind and many people enter a state pretending “knowing what is going on.” The Founder Taoism Lao Tzu one main philosophers of philosophical Taoism pronounced as “Daoism” that advocates living a simple life, historians are not quite sure if he developed alone.
One of the most famous passages from of the book Tao-Te-Ching exemplifies his philosophical thoughts and can be translated “Old Man” or more correctly Old Teacher” clearly illustrates the route according to ancient history website: “Yield and overcome, Empty and become full, Bend and become straight.” The passage has awakened many studies and schools of anti-authoritarian minds as a way of solving conflicts in a peaceful way. The sentences remind of “The Middle Way” in Buddhism and illustrate order and disorder in nature which a wise man refuse to interfere with the natural flow of things in every way. In the West, Lao Tzu is most known for his wise quotes upon existential issues
Chaos, derived from the Ancient Greek and typically means being in a state lack of order or predictability. In ancient Greece, it first meant the initial state of the universe, and, by extension, space, darkness, secondly a state of confusion of not knowing what is going on such as in popular culture. Fashion in English comes from the word fast or fads, short lasting trends, what’s trendy this week might be dull next. In the fashion industry one often talks about seasons, two or four while fast fashion brands bring newness daily.
Long-term trends last for years and are usually called megatrends or future studies. An example of a megatrend, for example, sustainable fashion, environmentally friendly products or Eco-consumerism. Often these long-lasting trends can lead to paradigm-shifts within an industry such as going from gasoline-fueled cars to electric. Megatrends are the basic foundation for developing creative design and marketing strategies of brand communication and product strategies.
Amazon deforestation – today’s action – tomorrows karma . The Amazon system plays a significant role in the world’s climate as it produces about 20% of the world’s oxygen supply and with the Amazon drainage, basin covers over 8 million km2 and has the largest rainforest on earth. However, more than 20% of the rainforest has disappeared and lost forever. If we continue to consume rainforest, it will be gone in less than 40 years and most probably cause a devastating rise in global warming

The Future of Millennial Giving: Wheels of EngagementGraeme Byrd
Presentation from the 2012 WVDO Conference by Graeme Byrd and Scott Stein about the future of philanthropy.
Similar to New body culture is a mega trend, inner and outer fashion, smart drugs, anti aging and new fabrics in fashion is just a few things that's happening in the future (20)

I witness the bomb total damage in the city center as I arrived just 2 minutes after the bang.
My subway station is only 200 meters from where the bomb exploded
In the evening I was to restless to sit inside so I decided to do walking meditation,
calm my mind and try to gain a momentum of inner peace.
Just a few blocks from my home is the famous Vigelands Sculpture Park.
I took my camera with me too regain inner peace.
A few bloggers have asked me to post again the post written on the day the terror in Oslo happened. It is today one year since the madness took place. Norway as a nation has stood together as a big family to fight the ignorance and narrow mindset of terrorism. I believe as a Norwegian this have strengthened the relationship we have with our new Norwegian citizen from Pakistan, Vietnam, Somalia, India and other people from all over the world who lives here now .

T-shirts are a visual history of pop culture from military underwear and blank cotton canvases for self exploring art and political, humorous, sarcastic and brand messages in the total history of fashion. T-shirt has become the icon of pop cultures of all decades and is denim jeans mirror of the upper body language, but in edition to this it has been wearied from everything as suits, weddings, punks, artistes, political events. Military action to clever brand awareness marketing actions. If there is a unique common icon of pop culture is the t-shirt. To do the whole history of t.-shirt is imposable to do within my abilities to research so I have used some really good sources of information as well as a few of my personal favorite tees. Unfortunately as I over the years have from time to time a stall open at some market I sold a few of them. Amongst them some hand printed and exclusive tees made by Malcolm Mc Laren in the Sex pistols. Others has been sold as The who signed tees from the 70’s, the unique messages from The The, Bauhouse, Krafrtwerk German editions, Dead Kennedy’s early San Francisco
Tees and a few well know street art artists and Gallery artistes from NY, London, and Tokyo to China. The common message is that a tee shirt has become my closest friend to a worn out Levi’s 501 jeans. I favorite Two Pack Tees from Levi’s was my favorite even not the original tees. But I used to see how long I could wear them and later on I made spray painted one off as Sonic youth and my best one for a Fugazize concert in the early 90’s. A stencil and black car paint did the job them. Smelly as hell as I had to use my washing machine otherwise a mixture of car paint and beer would knock us all out in madhouse of an Fugazi punk concert somewhere in a squatted house in Oslo where I only made 10 ones and till own the one I kept myself. To make them yourself is quite a job if you like them worn out and punk street wise. Please do not buy those made by big chains as they are in bad quality and mostly environmental unfriendly ones. But if you buy a few 2nd hand or find in your back closet some old ones or as your neighbor metal fn or an old punk friend I am sure he will give you some he would have throes in the garbage a longtime ago. You can overprint almost anything and I really like the dirty white ones my self. You can beat them up first handed by using warm water and primp stones in a sac or I you make the put them in a washing machine use a three or four bags of pirmstons or other ones a bit heavy and wash them together with a 105-10 ones. Do not add to much washing powder as it does harm to the environment, but make sure use as little water and temperature as possible and control the float of water. The water can be used the flush down the toilets or other activities that require water that does not need to be as clean to begin with. A motor engine or a really dirty old car. That should do it.
