managing partner. Steven Schlesinger is a member of the
Nassau County Bar Association (NCBA), which operates the WE
CARE fund.
A nationally-recognized charity, the WE CARE fund acts as the
NCBA’s official charitable arm. Former NCBA president Stephen
Gassman established the fund to distribute money via charitable
grants to organizations that improve the lives of those in need in
Nassau County, including children and the elderly.
Since 1988, WE CARE has raised over $3 million, which has
allowed it to support over 100 charitable causes. These include
the Long Island Council of Churches, the Nassau County Girl
Scouts, and the Coalition Against Domestic Violence, among
others. WE CARE has also been looked upon as a model for bar
groups creating similar charitable programs.
