TheYusay Consing Mansion in Molo, Iloilo City re-visited January 2015Fergus Ducharme
This Yusay Consing Mansion, is a building of huge heritage significance in the Molo District of Iloilo City. It had for years been seriously neglected and fell into serious disrepair so much so that the property, once one of the jewels of the region, effectively became a dumping ground. And in came riding to the rescue a white knight appeared to save the once magnificent property from the wreckers ball. SM Properties bought the property and committed themselves to saving it for subsequent generations while using the property surrounding the mansion for commercial purposes.
SM Properties are heroes and their work has started positively, we only wish they would admit us on the grounds to record, in our small way, this important work for posterity.

Using Social Media To Grow Your PracticeRod Burkert
After ten years of practicing out of a home office in Philadelphia, the presenter now lives, works, and travels full time in a RV. How does he market and sell his services? Social media.
Now you don’t have to live in an RV to take advantage of social media. But it is fast becoming the best way for FVS professionals to build prospect relationships in a business environment where geography and time zone barriers have fallen. And just like in face-to-face marketing, personal connection is the key to landing new work when using social media: to succeed, your interactions must convey your expertise, credibility, and a hint of personality. Watch this session if you want to arm yourself with the “secret sauce” of social media marketing that can jumpstart, or expand, your BVFLS practice on platforms like LinkedIn, Google+, and Twitter.
This document summarizes a workshop to help participants strengthen bids for Horizon 2020 funding using a SWAT analysis tool. The workshop introduces the SWAT tool, which creates a "spoke map" to self-assess strengths and weaknesses across technical, product, market, team, manufacturing, cash, and plan elements. Participants conduct a self-assessment using the SWAT tool and discuss how to improve weak areas to maximize bid success. The document provides guidance on using critical thinking to analyze relationships between different spokes and identify supplements to strengthen applications.
This presentation evaluates the additional elements—process, people and physical layout—of the marketing mix. It begins with a brief historical account of the emergence of the marketing mix. It then examines the weakness of using the traditional marketing mix (4Ps) to market a service. The presentation demonstrates how process, "people", and physical layout could be designed to provide a superior service experience or augment the value of a product for customers and clients.

St Lawrence the Deacon Church, Panitan, Capiz, Episode 2Fergus Ducharme
The Church in Panitan, Capiz has a very interesting Patron Saint. He was St Lawrence who was a Spanish deacon of the Church in the years 257 and 258 in Rome. What is interesting is what this young man did and how he met his end through the most horrendous martyrdom possible. We tell his story briefly to provide some background to what we found when we visited this lovely spacious and airy church. He is the same St Lawrence after whom Jacques Cartier named the majestic St Lawrence River when he discovered Canada in the early 1500's..
