A dragon was terrorizing the small town of Montblanc in Catalonia by attacking the people. To appease the dragon, the town began offering a young maiden to the beast each day. Eventually, the princess was chosen as the sacrifice. However, before the princess could be eaten, the knight St. George arrived and fought the dragon, stabbing it in the heart with his sword and rescuing the princess.
