- 2. Camera at eye level In this part of the movie, Ronnie and Will are deeply in love with each other. The camera at eye level technique is used in this scene, when Ronnie sits to play ‘When I Look at you’ on the piano for Will. It is used from the very beginning, even when Ronnie is tieing up her hair, his eyes are focused on her. At every angle the camera shoots from, the lens is focused at Will’s eye level, or Ronnie’s eye level. Will is focused on Ronnie the entire time, showing his love for her, whilst Ronnie is focused on the piano music, showing her concentration
- 3. Diegetic Sound The technique of diegetic sound is used in this scene, as the source of sound is visible on the screen. The source of course is Ronnie playing the Piano
- 4. Non-Verbal Communication In this scene, this technique is used very well. Neither of the two characters use verbal communication, everything is either shown through eye contact or the music on the piano
- 5. Mood The mood of this piece both calm an intense Both characters are quite uptight at the beginning. Especially Ronnie, as it is her first time playing a song for Will. Will, being nervous for her. As the scene goes on, you get a sense of relief from both characters, as they both move more into their comfort zones and become aware of each others company.
- 6. High key lighting In this scene the mood is portrayed through the high key lighting. The lighting is just at a perfect match to suit the moods of both characters.
