• Hebrew word “mashiah” (Messías) means “the anointed one”
• Hebrew word “mashiah” translated to Greek Bible as “Christos”
• Thus priests, prophets, and kings were anointed with oil, and so consecrated to their
respective offices. They are called as "anointed one" in Jewish tradition.
• Simply “mashiah” is by Jewish tradition and “Christos” (NT) is from Christianity for “anointed
one”
Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand: from the
time that the word went out to restore and rebuild
Jerusalem until the time of an anointed prince, there
shall be seven weeks; and for sixty-two weeks it shall
be built again with streets and moat, but in a troubled
time.

Name given to the second personality by the LORD when came as the savior of the world.

• Immanuel is the English translation of the Hebrew “‫אל‬ ‫עּמנּו‬” (‛immānū’ēl)
• Emmanuel is the English translation of the Greek “Ἐμμανουήλ” (Emmanouḗl) which
is a translation of the Hebrew “‫אל‬ ‫עּמנּו‬“ .
