In the rapidly evolving landscape of education in today's world, the ability to navigate complex change is crucial for leaders and organizations. Leading such change requires building the buy-in of stakeholders, address roadblocks hindering progress, and fostering a culture of experimentation that embraces calculated risks and encourages learning from failures. This workshop introduces the concept of transformative leadership, introducing a comprehensive framework specifically designed to guide leaders and organizations as they tackle complex challenges where no obvious solution exists.

Introspection: The Key to Making Your Environment Conducive to Continuous Lea...Jeremy Willets
The heartbeat of the IT world isn’t technology; it’s the people. After all, we work in companies to have company! Whatever our relationship with each other – be it as a peer, manager, or coach – learning is often the essential unit of currency that’s necessary to move our relationships and businesses forward. Unfortunately – and sometimes unexpectedly – the people you work with probably aren’t very good at learning. How can we teach our colleagues, direct reports, and team members to be better learners; and even blossom into continuous learners? I’m a firm believer that practicing introspection is the first step to making your environment conducive to continuous learning.
The document provides 10 strategies for future proofing one's career:
1) Set a vision and goals for where you want your career to be in 3-5 years.
2) Continuously invest in yourself through ongoing learning.
3) Develop your personal brand to communicate your core values and differentiate yourself.
4) Cultivate adaptability to embrace change and new ways of working.
5) Seek a mentor who can provide guidance and support.
6) Build and maintain a diverse network to generate opportunities.
7) Consider volunteering to gain new skills and professional connections.
8) Develop technical savviness to thrive in a digital world.

The document discusses strategies for effectively leading schools in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) environment. It emphasizes that education must be relevant and prepare students with 21st century skills for an unpredictable future. To reimagine schools, it recommends making education attractive, ensuring student engagement through partnerships, meeting student needs, empowering parents, improving teacher resources, embracing community partnerships, and providing high-quality leadership. Pillars for reimaging include making learning relevant, catering to Generation Z, fostering relationships, using data, understanding context, and maintaining a growth mindset.
In creating agile organisations and driving transformation, it's impossible to overstate the importance and impact of culture. Organisations are complex relationship systems and to deliver a successful transformation, it is critical that leaders, coaches and others listen to, understand, communicate and respond authentically and with empathy to the humans within the relationship system. In Asia, this inevitably includes multiple cultural contexts and locations, each with their own nuances and organisational subcultures. Lisa will explore culture and its importance in agile organisations and transformations, with examples from local and international organisations.
The document summarizes information presented about employment and job development services provided by The Shield Institute. It discusses the importance of vocational programs and community transition services for individuals with disabilities. Key points emphasized include developing job skills based on interests and strengths through community experiences, the benefits of supported employment, and using person-centered planning to set goals and mobilize support systems.
To be a champion, I think you have to see the big picture. It's not about winning and losing; it's about every day hard work and about thriving on a challenge. It's about embracing the pain that you'll experience at the end of a race and not being afraid. I think people think too hard and get afraid of a certain challenge. Summer Sanders

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

The Golden Thread - Marketing for International Schools
1. The Golden Thread
Presenter: Darren Brews
Director of Marketing and Communications
Co-Presenter: Dawn Brews
Elementary Assistant Principal/PYP Coordinator
8. What is the Golden Thread?
Our idea of the Golden Thread is a common idea that runs through an entire
school and pulls it all together. It is a defining characteristic of a school’s identity
which culminates in a school community that knows, understands, believes in,
and embodies what makes a particular school unique. It’s part of a school’s
DNA.
Our idea of the Golden Thread is not obvious, it is something deeper and more
subtle.
9. The Characteristics of a Golden Thread
● It is a single unifying idea embraced by all stakeholders
● It is applicable to every dimension of the school system
● It must create an identifiable experience / feeling for the people involved
● It awakens the desire for people to cooperate across the school system
● It can be lived by those who embrace it
● It is dynamic… it can change as the context demands
11. Why do we need a Golden Thread?
● We owe it to our customers, colleagues and ourselves
● A school consists of multiple and diverse departments that need to
cooperate
● Cooperation needs a single unifying idea that can be embraced by all to
make it happen
If everyone is on the same page and everyone is driven towards a common
Golden Thread, then people are empowered to deliver. Empower everyone with
the knowledge of where the school needs to be and use the Golden Thread as
tool to achieve your school’s goals.
12. Why a common Golden Thread?
● Who knows what a Silo Effect is?
“A mindset present when certain departments or sectors do not wish to share
information with others in the same company. This type of mentality will reduce
efficiency in the overall operation, reduce morale, and may contribute to the
demise of a productive company culture.”

22. The Starting Point: Know Your School
Finding a Golden Thread within in a school requires more than surface
knowledge of your school. It requires you to dig deep and listen to both the
comfortable and uncomfortable realities that people are willing to share.
This is not about right or wrong or who is to blame, it is the starting point of the
journey.
23. The Destination: Define your school’s dream
● Clarify everyone’s desire for the school
● Take all ideas into consideration
● Have multiple conversations
● Narrow the desires to the dominant ones
● Decide on a common desire
What did we do to determine our dream?
24. The Journey: Define your Golden Thread
● Ask identified stakeholders: What is the single game BIG changing idea (that
fits the criteria) that will enable us to move from where we are to where we
want to be?
● Define multiple possibilities
● Test the possibilities
● Ask which will best take us the next step in our journey
● Implement
● Review
25. What are your possible Golden Threads?
The process of finding your Golden Thread would normally involve multiple
stakeholders in an effort to determine your SINGLE Golden Thread. The more
input they have, the more likely they are to live it. Ask this question of your:
● Leadership Team
● A Focus Group of Faculty/Staff
● A Focus Group of Students
● A Focus Group of Community Members
Choose 3-5 Golden Threads that YOU think are right for your school.
What single thing would change our school for the good?

31. Communicating the Golden Thread?
There is no one correct way to communicate the Golden Thread.
● If stakeholders are involved in defining the Golden Thread communication is
made much easier
● Communication has to come from the top.
● It has to be reinforced at every possible occasion - faculty meetings, all
school meetings, review sessions, parent meetings, tours, etc.
● It’s has to be ingrained in the psyche of each individual
● Identify any person or department working as a silo and stress the
importance of living the Golden Thread.
32. Time to Conquer!
To summarize, a Golden Thread has three dominant characteristics:
● It is a single uniting idea that everyone embraces and can live
● It is applicable to every dimension of the school
● It awakens in everyone a desire to cooperate fully with the entire school
system
