Tutankhamen was an Egyptian pharaoh who ruled from 1332 BC to 1323 BC. His tomb was discovered in 1922 by archaeologist Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings. The tomb contained a vast treasure of gold and other artifacts that provided insight into life during ancient Egypt's New Kingdom period.
