Fines have been imposed on five commercial establishments for employees non-compliance with the covid-19 guidelines, as of yet. The common grounds or violations made were lack of commitment to wearing masks, and non-adherence to physical distancing.

The reopening of our economy has been assigned to the 50 individual states and their local municipalities. This has created a void of clarity and increasing confusion about a commonsense approach for a reopening strategy for business owners. Without a clear, mandated, coordinated strategy leaders are left with a myriad of questions, without a focused protocol, let alone a global cooperative strategy. Based on the natural challenges of COVID-19 it has become incumbent on business owners to acquire the knowledge while taking the responsibility for their customer’s and staff’s safety. Regardless of mandated protocols, the real challenge to overcome is the perception of the guest/customer of the health and well-being of the restaurant establishment. Our natural fight or flight instinct will be on high alert and it will be the customer’s perception of an establishment’s ability to deliver perceived safety that will actually drive the post-COVID-19 buying habits.

Ordinarily, we don’t expect perfectly good airplanes to fall out of the sky for no reason. When it happens, and it turns out that the reason was carelessness or a failure to act reasonably, then the tort of negligence may apply. All persons, as established by state tort law, have the duty to act reasonably and to exercise a reasonable amount of care in their dealings and interactions with others. Breach of that duty, which causes injury, is negligence. Negligence is distinguished from intentional torts because there is a lack of intent to cause harm. If a pilot intentionally crashed an airplane and harmed others, for example, the tort committed may be assault or battery. When there is no intent to harm, then negligence may nonetheless apply and hold the pilot or the airline liable, for being careless or failure to exercise due care.

Healthcare Financial Recovery: A Guide to the COVID-19 Add-On PaymentHealth Catalyst
With the COVID-19 pandemic ongoing, healthcare organizations continue to face catastrophic financial challenges. Drivers of the economic strain include the increased cost to care for patients with COVID-19, impact of canceled services, and additional costs—such as personal protective equipment (PPE) and the supplementary support some hospitals provide to their employees.
During the pandemic era, getting paid appropriately for services is more important for health systems than ever. Recognizing these challenges to healthcare financial recovery, the federal government provides programs to give organizations financial relief, including add-on payment for patients diagnosed with COVID-19. To qualify for assistance, health systems must understand these relief programs and comply with their requirements.

The new amendment to the UAE Criminal Procedure Law provides for an amicable settlement opportunity to the parties in a criminal case, namely the victim and the accused under the aegis of the prosecution.
WHAT MUST YOU DO IF YOU ARE DEPORTED FROM UAE? UAE is a pool of legislation which governs every aspect of citizens' life residing in the country, ensuring peace and harmony. With the presence of numerous laws, individuals, particularly foreign nationals, must keep up with every law in order to be eligible to stay in the country.
"The freedom of movement and residence will be granted within limits of laws" quotes from Article 29 of the UAE constitution offers freedom and simultaneously curtail it on the basis of law. It implies that everyone enjoys the freedom to travel inside and outside the country unless specifically objected by law through a travel ban.
In 2020, the Ministry of Home Affairs established a committee led by Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, former Vice Chancellor of National Law University (NLU), Delhi. This committee was tasked with reviewing the three codes of criminal law. The primary objective of the committee was to propose comprehensive reforms to the country’s criminal laws in a manner that is both principled and effective.
The committee’s focus was on ensuring the safety and security of individuals, communities, and the nation as a whole. Throughout its deliberations, the committee aimed to uphold constitutional values such as justice, dignity, and the intrinsic value of each individual. Their goal was to recommend amendments to the criminal laws that align with these values and priorities.
Subsequently, in February, the committee successfully submitted its recommendations regarding amendments to the criminal law. These recommendations are intended to serve as a foundation for enhancing the current legal framework, promoting safety and security, and upholding the constitutional principles of justice, dignity, and the inherent worth of every individual.
WINDING UP of COMPANY, Modes of DissolutionKHURRAMWALI
Winding up, also known as liquidation, refers to the legal and financial process of dissolving a company. It involves ceasing operations, selling assets, settling debts, and ultimately removing the company from the official business registry.
Here's a breakdown of the key aspects of winding up:
Reasons for Winding Up:
Insolvency: This is the most common reason, where the company cannot pay its debts. Creditors may initiate a compulsory winding up to recover their dues.
Voluntary Closure: The owners may decide to close the company due to reasons like reaching business goals, facing losses, or merging with another company.
Deadlock: If shareholders or directors cannot agree on how to run the company, a court may order a winding up.
Types of Winding Up:
Voluntary Winding Up: This is initiated by the company's shareholders through a resolution passed by a majority vote. There are two main types:
Members' Voluntary Winding Up: The company is solvent (has enough assets to pay off its debts) and shareholders will receive any remaining assets after debts are settled.
Creditors' Voluntary Winding Up: The company is insolvent and creditors will be prioritized in receiving payment from the sale of assets.
Compulsory Winding Up: This is initiated by a court order, typically at the request of creditors, government agencies, or even by the company itself if it's insolvent.
Process of Winding Up:
Appointment of Liquidator: A qualified professional is appointed to oversee the winding-up process. They are responsible for selling assets, paying off debts, and distributing any remaining funds.
Cease Trading: The company stops its regular business operations.
Notification of Creditors: Creditors are informed about the winding up and invited to submit their claims.
Sale of Assets: The company's assets are sold to generate cash to pay off creditors.
Payment of Debts: Creditors are paid according to a set order of priority, with secured creditors receiving payment before unsecured creditors.
Distribution to Shareholders: If there are any remaining funds after all debts are settled, they are distributed to shareholders according to their ownership stake.
Dissolution: Once all claims are settled and distributions made, the company is officially dissolved and removed from the business register.
Impact of Winding Up:
Employees: Employees will likely lose their jobs during the winding-up process.
Creditors: Creditors may not recover their debts in full, especially if the company is insolvent.
Shareholders: Shareholders may not receive any payout if the company's debts exceed its assets.
Winding up is a complex legal and financial process that can have significant consequences for all parties involved. It's important to seek professional legal and financial advice when considering winding up a company.

1. The Fastest Way To Learn About Covid-19
Guidelines in the UAE
Author: Dr. Hassan Elhais
The COVID-19 pandemic, also known as the coronavirus pandemic, is an ongoing pandemic of coronavirus
disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), first
identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. As of now UAE has conducted 16,994,124 tests, 171,434
diagnosis, 58 deaths, 156,380 recoveries and 14,474 active cases.
Field inspectors from the Commercial Compliance & Consumer Protection, CCCP, Sector in Dubai
Economy continued their visits to a number of open markets and shopping centres across the emirate to
make sure that commercial establishments commit to the precautionary measures against COVID-19. In
light of the pandemic Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management and other relevant authorities
have issued safety guidelines.
What are the guidelines?
Fines have been imposed on five commercial establishments for employees non-compliance with the covid-
19 guidelines, as of yet. The common grounds or violations made were lack of commitment to wearing
masks, and non-adherence to physical distancing.
Just because fines were imposed only on five businesses does not necessarily mean the other were fully
complying, the field inspection teams also warned four other businesses for not placing the physical
distancing stickers as required. Overall, inspections found out that 787 shops and commercial establishments
fully complied with the precautionary measures, which is a very small number at that.
By the looks of it, authorities are not going to give any relaxations and continue to require compliance with
all the protocols and safety guidelines till a state of normalcy is achieved. Guidelines are pretty standard;
businesses are instructed to make sure customers and staff members maintain the hygiene and sanitization
requirements as mandated by government authorities, which includes maintaining a regular cleaning regime,
and ensuring the 2-metre safe distancing rule is respected at all times.
Other regulations are that businesses are to ensure everyone present on their property are wearing masks,
make sure that employs are checking temperature of the customers and also providing sanitisers for them.
They must also maintain adequate records of their members, including names, telephone numbers and visit
dates, to assist if contact tracing becomes necessary.
They are also to put up posters and stickers to encourage customers to follow the aforementioned guidelines.
As far as celebrating festivals goes the rules recommend holding remote digital celebrations only and
encourage reservations in advance for approved events lasting no more than 3-4 hours. Regarding cleaning
and sterilization, the rules call for continuous cleaning and sterilization each hour for all public facilities
