Produce goods at very low price - raw materials costs less so company will be charged less for raw materials - manufacturing costs are low so company can make the gear and clothing cheaper - labor costs are low so company spends less on wages and benefits - increase in profits because of these savings Helps America enhance their reputation as being eco-friendly – company can claim to be a green company _ company can claim they are helping China be more eco-friendly _ company can market their products to environmentally conscious consumers
  5. Provides jobs to Chinese people who really need them – many unemployed, low skilled people in China - improves Chinese people’s standard of living by giving them jobs and benefits Provides taxes to Chinese government – American company will pay Chinese to use their factories, housing, office space - helps Chinese economy by giving it money, this helps government help their people
  6. Religion – honor their religious holidays, their religious beliefs Social norms – don’t expect eye contact, never confront or outwardly disagree in public, never do anything to publically embarrass anyone Confucianism – respect the elders, always remember who is the boss and who is the bosses’ boss Language – know how to say hello, thank you, please etc… Be formal – being casual will appear disrespectful
