Background: Research has limitedly focused on adolescents’ emotional–behavioral func- tioning preceding road collisions and on the role of family support. Objective: To verify whether the rates of motorbikes collisions among adolescents are associated with their emotional–behavioral functioning, their use of specific defense strategies and family sup- port. Method: N = 150 adolescents who visited an emergency department for road accidents were selected and completed self-report questionnaires assessing emotional–behavioral functioning, difficulty in identifying and describing emotions, use of defense strategies and perceived family support. Results: Higher rates of motorbike collisions are associated with more maladaptive emotional–behavioral functioning. Higher perceived family sup- port is associated with lower rates of collisions. Conclusions: Recidivism of motor vehicle collision among adolescents can be considered as a form of acting-out caused by their psy- chological difficulties.

WINDING UP of COMPANY, Modes of DissolutionKHURRAMWALI
Winding up, also known as liquidation, refers to the legal and financial process of dissolving a company. It involves ceasing operations, selling assets, settling debts, and ultimately removing the company from the official business registry.
Here's a breakdown of the key aspects of winding up:
Reasons for Winding Up:
Insolvency: This is the most common reason, where the company cannot pay its debts. Creditors may initiate a compulsory winding up to recover their dues.
Voluntary Closure: The owners may decide to close the company due to reasons like reaching business goals, facing losses, or merging with another company.
Deadlock: If shareholders or directors cannot agree on how to run the company, a court may order a winding up.
Types of Winding Up:
Voluntary Winding Up: This is initiated by the company's shareholders through a resolution passed by a majority vote. There are two main types:
Members' Voluntary Winding Up: The company is solvent (has enough assets to pay off its debts) and shareholders will receive any remaining assets after debts are settled.
Creditors' Voluntary Winding Up: The company is insolvent and creditors will be prioritized in receiving payment from the sale of assets.
Compulsory Winding Up: This is initiated by a court order, typically at the request of creditors, government agencies, or even by the company itself if it's insolvent.
Process of Winding Up:
Appointment of Liquidator: A qualified professional is appointed to oversee the winding-up process. They are responsible for selling assets, paying off debts, and distributing any remaining funds.
Cease Trading: The company stops its regular business operations.
Notification of Creditors: Creditors are informed about the winding up and invited to submit their claims.
Sale of Assets: The company's assets are sold to generate cash to pay off creditors.
Payment of Debts: Creditors are paid according to a set order of priority, with secured creditors receiving payment before unsecured creditors.
Distribution to Shareholders: If there are any remaining funds after all debts are settled, they are distributed to shareholders according to their ownership stake.
Dissolution: Once all claims are settled and distributions made, the company is officially dissolved and removed from the business register.
Impact of Winding Up:
Employees: Employees will likely lose their jobs during the winding-up process.
Creditors: Creditors may not recover their debts in full, especially if the company is insolvent.
Shareholders: Shareholders may not receive any payout if the company's debts exceed its assets.
Winding up is a complex legal and financial process that can have significant consequences for all parties involved. It's important to seek professional legal and financial advice when considering winding up a company.
In 2020, the Ministry of Home Affairs established a committee led by Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, former Vice Chancellor of National Law University (NLU), Delhi. This committee was tasked with reviewing the three codes of criminal law. The primary objective of the committee was to propose comprehensive reforms to the country’s criminal laws in a manner that is both principled and effective.
The committee’s focus was on ensuring the safety and security of individuals, communities, and the nation as a whole. Throughout its deliberations, the committee aimed to uphold constitutional values such as justice, dignity, and the intrinsic value of each individual. Their goal was to recommend amendments to the criminal laws that align with these values and priorities.
Subsequently, in February, the committee successfully submitted its recommendations regarding amendments to the criminal law. These recommendations are intended to serve as a foundation for enhancing the current legal framework, promoting safety and security, and upholding the constitutional principles of justice, dignity, and the inherent worth of every individual.

PRECEDENT AS A SOURCE OF LAW (SAIF JAVED).pptxOmGod1
Precedent, or stare decisis, is a cornerstone of common law systems where past judicial decisions guide future cases, ensuring consistency and predictability in the legal system. Binding precedents from higher courts must be followed by lower courts, while persuasive precedents may influence but are not obligatory. This principle promotes fairness and efficiency, allowing for the evolution of the law as higher courts can overrule outdated decisions. Despite criticisms of rigidity and complexity, precedent ensures similar cases are treated alike, balancing stability with flexibility in judicial decision-making.

One major concern in highway and traffic safety is the increase in reports of
aggressive driving. However, the concept of "aggressive driving" is not really
understood, or well-defined, for that matter. Most people see aggressive driving
as being synonymous with "road rage."
However, these two concepts are not actually identical. Aggressive driving is a
much broader concept that many realize. If we can begin to understand the real
dangers of aggressive driving, we can hopefully improve the overall impact it has
on traffic safety.
3. The Dangers of Missouri Aggressive Driving www.joplininjuryattorney.com 3
Defining Aggressive Driving
The legal concept of "aggressive driving" describes a variety of traffic offenses
that display a certain type of
aggressiveness, usually meant
to save time. These offenses
include following too closely,
speeding, unsafe lane
changes, failing to signal
intent to change lanes, and
other forms of negligent or
inconsiderate driving. This
driving behavior is most often
seen when there is traffic
congestion. A driver may
already be running behind
and they are determined to
get where they need to be as
fast as possible, regardless of
the rules of the road.
Aggressive driving puts that
driver, as well as the others on the road, at a higher risk of accident and injury.
4. The Dangers of Missouri Aggressive Driving www.joplininjuryattorney.com 4
Why Aggressive Driving Often Goes Unreported
The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, founded in 1947 by AAA to conduct
research regarding highway safety issues, defines aggressive driving as "any
unsafe driving behavior, performed deliberately and with ill intention or disregard
for safety, can constitute aggressive driving." The trouble is, information
regarding the intentions or motivations of drivers is not typically included in the
data on motor vehicle collisions. Therefore, attempts to estimate the frequency
of aggressive driving are largely unsuccessful.
5. The Dangers of Missouri Aggressive Driving www.joplininjuryattorney.com 5
Recognizing Road Rage
Road rage, as dubbed by the media, generally occurs when a traffic incident
escalates into irrational hostility or violence. Certainly, road rage and aggressive
driving are closely related. In fact, road rage is most likely triggered by an
aggressive driving situation, such as cutting someone off. However, road rage
goes well beyond a traffic violation, usually resulting in a verbal or physical
confrontation. In more extreme cases, road rage can end in assault, sometimes
with a weapon.
6. The Dangers of Missouri Aggressive Driving www.joplininjuryattorney.com 6
Why Road Rage is So Dangerous
What makes road rage so dangerous is the fact that victims rarely see it coming.
In some cases, road rage is triggered by another driver’s intentional conduct,
such as switching from lane to lane in an effort to go around other vehicles and
cutting someone off. But in most cases, the traffic offense is committed
unintentionally. For example, you might make an abrupt exit from the highway
without proper signaling, because you suddenly realized you were about to miss
your exit.
7. The Dangers of Missouri Aggressive Driving www.joplininjuryattorney.com 7
Aggressive Driving Statistics
The most recent statistics compiled on aggressive driving show that speeding is
the most common potentially-
aggressive action by far. In
fact, nearly one of every three
fatal crashes over the period
studied involved a driver who
was reported to have been
speeding or driving too fast
for the road or weather
conditions. Half of the fatal
crashes involving aggressive
actions were single-vehicle
crashes. Of the 119,475
fatalities reported as a result
of potentially-aggressive
driving, 56.3% were the
aggressive drivers themselves
21.6% were their passengers,
and 22.1% were occupants of
other vehicles and non-motorists.
8. The Dangers of Missouri Aggressive Driving www.joplininjuryattorney.com 8
What Can be Done?
Aggressive driving and road rage are both very serious public concerns. Some
reports have indicated that drivers
are actually more afraid of an
aggressive driver than an impaired
driver. The media should refrain
from sensationalizing aggressive
driving and retaliatory behavior of
drivers involved in so-called road
rage incidents. We all need a clearer
understanding of the difference
between aggressive driving and road
rage, an issue that law enforcement
can be very helpful in clarifying. As
the public becomes better educated,
and begins to understand the
differences between aggressive
driving and more extreme road rage,
more reports of aggressive driving will be made. The point is, choosing to report
aggressive drivers to law enforcement, instead of overreacting and allowing
anger to stand in the way of common sense and judgment, can go a long way to
reducing the frequency of these incidents.
