The mailing goes to 60-plus residents of Johnson County who provide
their address. Inclusion in the mail list is available by calling Janice
Suddath (Circulation) at (913) 715. 0430.
Aside from receiving The Best Times in the mail, the magazine is also posted
online and delivered to 34 drop-off sites in 14 cities throughout Johnson
County for additional readership. The sites include 15 libraries, seven
multi-service/community centers, seven nutrition centers, and five main
facilities of Johnson County Government.
The Best Times magazine is mailed and distributed to drop-off sites during
the final week of the month prior to the date of publication.
Today’s 60-plus residents, and active aging adults totaling more than
95,000 in Johnson County, aren’t the same as yesterday’s seniors. Today’s
seniors have the desire, the time, and the money to devote to living an
active life, having fun, traveling, shopping, and enjoying leisure activities.
And, the age wave is still building locally and nationally as 76 million baby
boomers are poised, ready and willing, to follow today’s estimated 33
million elders into retirement. The Best Times offers a unique opportunity,
on a monthly basis, to gain valuable exposure in this important, steady,
and growing, market in Johnson County.

Copy Submission Pricing is based on press-ready, sized copy. Ad design assistance is available at
$60 per hour, minimum of one hour. One revision is allowed at no extra charge; additional revisions
will be billed at $60 per hour
Display Advertising Policy
Deadlines The third day of the month to reserve space and turn in ad copy for design, the eighth
day of the month to submit electronic files (Windows-formatted PDF files or JPEG, at least 200 dpi).
Deadlines are for the month preceding the month of issue. For example, the February issue
deadlines are January 3 (reserve ad space) and January 8 (copy submission).

Policies. All advertising shall comply with the Johnson County Government Advertising Policy and Guidelines
and with The Best Times Newspaper Advertising Policy, and such policies shall be considered as a part of this
Contract. The signature of the Advertiser, or its representative or agent, on this Contract shall constitute an
acknowledgement by the Advertiser that it has received a copy of The Best Times Newspaper Advertising
Policy and will comply with all of the terms, conditions, and requirements contained in the policy. A copy of the
Johnson County Government Advertising Policy and Guidelines is available upon request.
Rates. All rates are quoted net. See the current Rate Card for full rate details.
Copy submission. Rates are based on press-ready, correctly sized copy, submitted electronically, preferably
as high-resolution .pdf files. Call for current specifications for ad submission. Ad design assistance is available
at $60 per hour, minimum of one hour.
Ad approval. Publisher reserves the right, in its sole and absolute judgment, to refuse to publish all contents or
partial contents of any advertisement for any reason. Publisher reserves the right to print the words “Paid
Advertisement” on any ad that Publisher deems could be mistaken for editorial content.
Cancellation. A print advertisement may be cancelled if written notification is received by the eleventh (11th)
day of the month prior to publication. If a Best Times print ad is cancelled, the rate will be prorated, based on
the number of ads actually run, rather than the number of ads agreed upon in the contract. An invoice will be
issued if added costs are due. A Best Times Online advertisement may be cancelled at any time; however, the
full cost of one month’s ad will be invoiced.
Payment due. First ad insertion: Payment is due upon receipt of the first invoice. Subsequent insertions:
Invoices will be issued monthly and payment is due the last day of the month of publication. Publisher reserves
the right to require prepayment.
Indemnity. Advertiser hereby indemnifies and holds Publisher harmless from and against any and all claims by
any third party and legal fees resulting there from related to the appearance of advertisements in The Best
Times newspaper, pursuant to Section VIII, C. 2 & 3. of the Johnson County Government Advertising Policy
and Guidelines. Publisher is not responsible for quality of reproduction resulting from the printing process.
AGREED
By signing this Contract, Advertiser acknowledges, understands, and agrees to all of the terms and conditions
of this Contract and promises to pay the rate for the number of insertions set out above. The person signing the
Contract on behalf of the Advertiser certifies that he or she has the necessary authority to bind the Advertiser.
This Contract may not be assigned without the express written consent of the Publisher.

Payment: Payment in advance is not required.
Our billing specialist will mail an invoice shortly before the publication is circulated
each month.
If you invest in more than one ad and wish to pay for all ads on one invoice, a ten
percent discount will be applied to the total amount. Note: This opportunity must be
communicated to the ad sales manager.
Instructions are on the invoice on how to pay (by check or online with a credit card).
There is a two percent charge to pay online.

Publisher reserves the right, in its sole and absolute judgment, to refuse to publish all contents or partial contents of any advertisement for any reason. Publisher reserves the right to print the words “Paid Advertisement” on any ad that Publisher deems could be mistaken for editorial content. Cancellation. A print advertisement may be cancelled if written notification is received by the eleventh (11th) day of the month prior to publication. If a Best Times print ad is cancelled, the rate will be prorated, based on the number of ads actually run, rather than the number of ads agreed upon in the contract. An invoice will be issued if added costs are due. A Best Times Online advertisement may be cancelled at any time; however, the full cost of one month’s ad will be invoiced. Payment due. First ad insertion: Payment is due upon receipt of the first invoice. Subsequent insertions: Invoices will be issued monthly and payment is due the last day of the month of publication. Publisher reserves the right to require prepayment. Indemnity. Advertiser hereby indemnifies and holds Publisher harmless from and against any and all claims by any third party and legal fees resulting there from related to the appearance of advertisements in The Best Times newspaper, pursuant to Section VIII, C. 2 & 3. of the Johnson County Government Advertising Policy and Guidelines. Publisher is not responsible for quality of reproduction resulting from the printing process.
