Chiang Mai is the second largest province in Thailand located in the north of the country. It has a population of approximately 1.63 million people spread across 25 administrative districts. Chiang Mai has a highly developed economy focused on tourism, as well as a long cultural history as the former location of the Lanna Kingdom. It remains an important center for learning Thai massage and culture.
