Ecka is an echidna, a spiny anteater found in Australia and surrounding regions. Echidnas have a spiny coat and long snout used to catch insects with their sticky tongue. Though fearsome looking, echidnas are actually shy and will retreat or curl into a ball if disturbed. If threatened, they will hide under rocks or burrow to escape predators like dogs, eagles, and dingos. The document introduces a friend echidna named Ecka.
