Houston means business. The George R Brown Convention Center is one of the largest
convention facilities in the US. Located in downtown and flanked by the Toyota Center, the

9. PORT OF HOUSTON
The Port of Houston is a 25-mile-long complex of diversified public and private facilities
located just a few hours' sailing time from the Gulf of Mexico. The port is ranked first in the
United States in foreign waterborne tonnage (17 consecutive years); first in U.S. imports (21
consecutive years); first in U.S. export tonnage (4 consecutive years) and second in the U.S. in
total tonnage (21 consecutive years).
The Port of Houston is an economic engine that produces jobs and economic prosperity for the
local and state economy. Throughout its history, whenever the port has grown, Houston has
