The document discusses the results of a survey of senior European communicators on current and future best practices in stakeholder engagement. The key findings include:
- Most communicators see stakeholder engagement as important to organizational success now and expect its importance to increase in the future.
- Communicators currently engage more with traditional stakeholders like employees and partners than non-traditional groups.
- The biggest benefits of engagement are seen as improved reputation and increased understanding, while the biggest risks include not meeting expectations and damage to reputation.
- To build successful engagement programs in the future requires trust, mutual respect, commitment from leadership and alignment with long-term goals.

Can we end the HIV/AIDS epidemic? Josip begovacPinHealth
1) In 2013, 136,235 new HIV infections were diagnosed in Europe, with 79,728 infections in Russia alone.
2) The concept of "ending AIDS" refers to bringing the HIV epidemic under control through strategies like widespread antiretroviral treatment and prevention of onward transmission.
3) Studies have shown pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) using antiretroviral drugs can reduce the risk of HIV transmission by over 80% when used consistently before and after exposure to the virus.

Dr. Christoph Hamelmann gave a presentation on expanding HIV responses at the 7th Regional HIV and AIDS Conference in Sarajevo. He discussed goals of getting to zero new HIV infections, AIDS-related deaths, and discrimination by 2030. The HIV epidemic in Eastern Europe and Central Asia continues to grow, with treatment coverage only at 21% in 2013. UNDP's regional project since 2012 supports sustainable financing of national HIV responses in 14 countries through working with governments, civil society, and key populations. The presentation covered concepts for transition planning like understanding disease burden and response gaps, improving technical and allocative efficiency, scaling up treatment access, and strengthening involvement of NGO networks in advocacy and service delivery.
Implementing hiv and sti programmes with keypopulation alexandr kossukhinPinHealth
This document discusses implementing HIV and STI programs with key populations. It outlines the UNAIDS 90-90-90 strategy targets and summarizes WHO guidelines for HIV prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care for key populations like sex workers, men who have sex with men, people who inject drugs, and transgender people. The guidelines recommend interventions like condoms, pre-exposure prophylaxis, sterile syringes, and empowering key populations to claim their human rights. Community empowerment and removing stigma and discrimination are essential to effective programs.

This document discusses strategies for optimizing HIV/AIDS investments and fast-tracking the global AIDS response. It emphasizes focusing investments where they will have the greatest impact, such as prioritizing the regions and populations with the highest disease burdens. Addressing costs and improving efficiencies in service delivery can help scale up treatment and prevention services. Strategic, evidence-based allocation of resources is key to making progress toward global goals like 90-90-90 targets.
Tb financing in bi h current situation and challenges to foster budgets in co...PinHealth
This document summarizes the tuberculosis (TB) financing situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and challenges in transitioning away from Global Fund support. It notes that before Global Fund involvement in 2006, BiH had high TB rates, weak laboratories and infection control, insecure drug procurement, and limited access to healthcare. Global Fund projects strengthened the TB response by educating healthcare workers, engaging NGOs, screening high-risk groups, and improving laboratories. While BiH's financial contribution has increased over time, challenges remain in maintaining support for activities like screening and NGO involvement without Global Fund. The document advocates continued partnership between government and non-government actors to build a strong public health system.
Models of good cooperation between red cross of serbia and health care system...PinHealth
The document discusses models of cooperation between the Red Cross of Serbia and the Serbian healthcare system in tuberculosis (TB) control. It outlines three key models: 1) Active case finding and contact tracing of TB patients, including among Roma populations. 2) Establishing duties of TB experts in NGO drop-in centers to screen sex workers and injecting drug users. 3) Creating links between stakeholders at the local level to improve screening and referral of socially vulnerable groups like Roma, refugees, and the homeless. The models aimed to build trust, provide screening in accessible environments, and take a holistic approach to improve TB control among vulnerable populations.
Hiv prevention and care in serbia where are we after 12 years of gfatm fundi...PinHealth
The document summarizes HIV prevention projects funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) in Serbia over 12 years. It discusses programs targeting vulnerable groups including injecting drug users, sex workers, men who have sex with men, prisoners, Roma people, and those living with HIV. Key activities included harm reduction, substitution treatment, condom distribution, counseling, and testing. Challenges faced included stigma, limited funding, and integrating services into the healthcare system. Over 200,000 people were reached through various programs implemented by the Ministry of Health and NGO partners across Serbia.
Stigma and its impact on the quality of life in people living with hiv aids i...PinHealth
This document discusses a study on the impact of stigma on quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS in Albania. The study examined 199 subjects and found their quality of life scores were lowest in the social relationships domain, due to fears of prejudice and discrimination causing isolation. Subjects did not reveal their status due to stigma, avoiding testing/treatment and social assistance. The document concludes that social stigma "kills more than HIV" and reducing stigma through education is needed to improve quality of life and care for those living with HIV/AIDS.
Changes of sexual practices of people living with hiv after initiation of ant...PinHealth
This document discusses changes in sexual practices among people living with HIV in Albania after initiating antiretroviral therapy (ART). It hypothesizes that adherence is related to sexual desire, moderated by depression level, and that ART increases unprotected sex. A study of 20 ART patients examined relationships between adherence, depression, and unprotected sex. It is expected that sexual desire diminishes on ART, low adherence is linked to high depression, and depression reduces desire and increases risky sex. Improving mental healthcare for PLWH may help their sexual well-being.

Testiranje na hiv u zajednici ivana jovanović
1. TESTIRANJE NA HIV U ZAJEDNICI
Ivana Jovanović
Udruženje Prevent, Srbija
populacije, 2 osobe biseksualne orijentacije. Kod 10% testiranih u okviru drop
in centra postoji višestruka vulnerabilnost.
nivou i promocija testiranja u državnim ustanovama.
7. Kao slabost testiranja u zajednici izdvaja se to da većina osoba testiranje brzim
testovima shvata kao redovnu proveru i nakon testiranja nastavlja sa rizičnim
ponašanjem.
