This document discusses the conservation of a pier glass from the apartment of Countess Villamarina in Val Casotto. It describes the diagnostic investigations conducted, which identified three layers - calcium carbonate, bolus, and gilding. Recipes from 19th century treatises were examined to reproduce the plaster pastes in the laboratory. The proposed intervention project involves documentation, cleaning, consolidation, and reintegration following diagnostic testing.

Le parti decorate a missione sono caratterizzate
da una stesura piuttosto spessa che si suppone
essere di gommalacca o altra resina di origine
naturale.
Tale resina, da un'osservazione al microscopio,
sembra aver inglobato, in parte, al suo interno
la foglia d'oro. Questo potrebbe essere dovuto
ad una stesura prematura della foglia stessa.
