The interior decorations are extravagant in design, using the finest materials and employing the best of Chinese and European craftsmanship. It was recently restored and many of the original materials have survived relatively unaltered in the last 230 years. The restoration cost $25m and planning began in 2002 and expected to be completed in 2019.
