Teresa Hsu was born poor in China and opened her first home for sick aged in Singapore at age 47 after learning nursing. She sold fruits to fund the home when it faced lack of funds and volunteers, as she cared for others into old age. Her caring nature and determination to improve lives led her to found several homes and hospitals for the aged over her lifetime.
