Landforms In 1776, Tenafly was surrounded by forests. There were four homes, a militia headquarters and a schoolhouse.  Today, Tenafly takes up 4.4 square miles  Tenafly's street plan and overall development were largely determined by its hills, its valleys and its tall trees.
Tenafly Railroad Station Built in 1874, the railroad station has been a centerpiece of Tenafly’s downtown.
The Old Clinton House Built in the late 1800s, the Clinton House (now known as the Clinton Inn) was built to accommodate passengers from the train station.

Washington Street Since the early 1900s, Washington Street has been the center of Tenafly’s business district.

Elizabeth Cady Stanton home The famous women’s rights leader lived in Tenafly from 1868 - 1887
Roosevelt Monument The Mackay Family, Malcom S. and his sister Jennie donated twenty-eight acres to the Tenafly Board of Education in 1924. They ordered the creation of the monument in honor to Teddy Roosevelt’s beliefs in conservation and parks.
