TEDDY
BEAR
SLEEPOVER
Glen Ridge Public Library
August 2013
Once upon a time
all the animals in our small town were
invited to a library sleepover.
Arriving
by car,
bike and
on paw.
After sad goodbyes, the fun begins.
Playing
with
beads,
with the train,
and with puzzles.
Listening to stories,
playing on the computers,
and watching movies!
Getting ready for a long summer’s rest…
…or maybe not!
Are you sleeping?
Shhh!
Time for a library expedition!
Climbing,
spelunking!
Wheelbarrow digging!
Digger riding.
Downward
sliding!
Paper recycling.
Stomachs growling.
Who’s that howling?
Mischief making.
Wow! Books for the taking.
Catalog searching???
Hickory,
dickory
dock
Finding a
key for
the lock.
Hey, diddle diddle
the bear and the fiddle.
Four
animals
sat on a
wall,
two had a
very great
fall.
Pussy cat, pussy cat,
what have you done!!
Now it’s time to stop the fun.
Find yourself a cozy nook
and cuddle up with a good book.
Goodnight gnomes
Goodnight
stalagmite
Goodnight iPad
Goodnight music
Goodnight to the librarians whispering
“hush”
Goodnight biographies
Goodnight libraries…everywhere
