2. Apple Mac and Final Cut Pro X
• I used an Apple Mac so that I could use Final Cut Pro X, this was
my chosen editing software because it has so many different
options. It is also easy to get used to which was a big pro as I had
never edited anything before the preliminary task.

3. Tools on Final Cut Pro X
I used the Stabilization tool to steady the camera on shot I
wanted to remain still but were hard to shoot while moving.
This tool was especially effective as when we were filming it
was raining so it was hard to keep the camera still because it
was cold. The Stabilization tool was easy to get used to and
added a sense of realism to the production, it also added some
professionalism because in real movies the camera is never
unstable unintentionally. I feel if the camera is unstable too
often the product just becomes unwatchable and therefor the
movie would lose some potential audiences as well as the
audiences good experience.

4. Tools on Final Cut Pro X
I used the blade tool to cut up clip, this tool was a necessity as when filming there
wasn’t enough of us to pause the camera at the correct moments every time. The
blade tool was also a requirement as it allowed me to make cuts at certain times,
these cuts are needed to cause tension, excitement or other emotions, if the
audience didn't have these emotions while watching the movie wouldn’t be
entertaining and wouldn’t be worth watching.
I also used the select tool to move the clips around, this helped me to keep
continuity throughout my movie, this is important to adds a sense of realism which
isn't always apparent with jump cuts and other editing techniques.

5. Tools on Final Cut Pro X
I used the Text tool to add the names of the actors that featured in my movie
on screen during the action. I thought this technique was particular effective
as it added to the chaos that was already on screen, it allows the audience to
analyse what the characters frantic thought would be at the time of action. It
also does a good job of allowing the actors to be recognised while not taking
up time on an opening credits screen. The font is stereotypical of a thriller
movie, when I conducted a questionnaire in the research section of my
production people voted that this was the most suitable for this genre, having
my audience have a say on the font will please them and they are more likely
to feel connected to the film and are far more likely to enjoy it for this
reason.

6. The Camera
It was raining when I was filming my product, this meant that while
filming was carried out rain went onto the camera lens, meaning
some of the film is blurred out by water drops. I would argue that
this adds a 1st person effect and makes the viewer partake in the
movie.
It makes them feel like they are actually in the movie rather than
just watching it as it seems like they have the same effects
happening to them (the audience) as the characters in the movie
have happening to them.
The water drops works perfectly on the characters’ first person shots
as it feels like they have water in their eyes.

7. The Camera
On watching the playback of the footage I had shot, I realised that some of the footage was
‘shakey’.
This fits in with the speed of my product as well as the music I have added. It also fits in with the
characters panicked frame of mind, he is being chased and is probably confused and worried, this
means that he would probably be shaking in the movie. Once again the characters feel like they
are getting the same effects as those in the movie.
There were some shots I didn’t want to shake, to correct this I used the stabilisation feature on
final cut pro x to steady the shot
