This document provides information about an exhibition called TEKHNODREV that focuses on technologies, machines, equipment and tools for forestry, logging, bioenergy, woodworking and furniture industries. It will take place in three locations in Russia - Khabarovsk, Moscow, and St. Petersburg - from 2014 to 2015. The exhibition aims to promote modern technologies and innovations in these industries to key regions in Russia. It also details the various topics and business programs that will be covered at each event.

118 priority investment projects in the field of forest exploitation and wood processing
List of priority investment projects is updated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation on a regular basis
(Decree No 419)
The main priority criteria: innovation, wood processing integration and sustainability
More than $13 billion of investment; currently about 50% have been assimilated
Leaders of investment activity – Northwestern, Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts
In some areas and regions, the share of the forestry complex in the economy is up to 80%
For investors planning projects worth at least 300 million roubles, order of preference in leasing out forest land for up to 49 years without
an auction is provided, as well as a half-price lease payment for forest resources.
Regional benefits: tax deferment, subsidies to refund some part of the interest paid on loans, land parcelling for construction projects
According to a study conducted by the Russian Federal Forestry Agency (FFA) of report at the UN meeting held in 2012, the production
of roundwood in Russia will grow from 143 million m3 in 2010 up to 300 million m3 in 2030 under an innovative scenario
Russia's accession to the World Trade Organisation has thrown a number of Russian forestry enterprises into a dilemma: whether
to improve the competitiveness of products and develop or change the business profile or terminate activities
The Russian forestry is unable to develop the available forest resources. 50% of the total country's timber is ripe forest that should be cut
and processed, however there isn’t enough capacity to do that. For example, logging companies in the Far East are capable of processing
only 2% of available timber.
Outdated equipment and technologies do not let the industry reach the conversion product yield acceptable for a modern economy.
In Russia, 1 000 m3 of industrial wood is used to produce about 238 m3 of lumber (in Canada, 340 m3 of lumber is produced).

Northwestern Federal District has the third largest stock of wood
in Russia and is a leader in terms of funding involved in wood
processing investment projects. The region ranks first in terms
of production of biofuels in the Russian Federation (over 30%)
NWFD is among the Russian regions with the most developed
segment of wooden construction
The proximity of the EU markets, developed transport and
logistics infrastructure, including port infrastructure, determine
the urgency and relevance of business communications in the
upgrade of forestry production capacities and the supply of
