4. These days heading out for an evening of fine nosh
opens up a world of possibilities. A veritable United
Nations of cuisine options wait in most city centers.
But what if you want something really different;
unicycling waiters, bypass burgers, tables made
of ice and phallic portion presentation. At
Goshen we regularly book celebratory meals for our
clients and love finding them across the UK and
Europe, so we’ve taken a look at the world’s 40 most
unusual (and in some cases downright
bizarre)restaurants.
INTRODUCTION:

5. Grotto Palazzos – Poignant a Mare, Italy
Trust us: you won’t see views like this in any other
restaurant.
Nestled within a limestone cave, looking out across
the Adriatic Ocean,
this is the perfect location for a truly enchanting
evening. Patrons can enjoy a set menu at $100 per
person,
with delicious seafood delicacies such as Thai
Squid or grilled garlic prawns.
We can’t think of anything better than sitting by the
edge of the cave,
overlooking the ocean, with a glass of wine and a
special someone.

6. The Rock – Zanzibar
Just a hop, skip and a splash away from the
idyllic Mechanic Pinged beach lies The Rock
Restaurant; one of Zanzibar’s most unusual
eateries. Perched atop a precarious looking rock
and surrounded by the Indian Ocean; diners here
can enjoy a tantalizing array of local seafood
dishes whilst taking in the uninterrupted ocean
views. It certainly makes a change from the
usual TV dinner, we think you’ll agree…

7. Sounds of Silence Ayers Rock Resort – Australia
 With this outdoor dining
experience, courtesy of Ayers Rock
Resort, guests can enjoy a fantastic
introduction to Aboriginal culture
and cuisine under the glittering
outback sky. Diners can expect a
bush tucker buffet brimming with
local delicacies, from crocodile and
kangaroo, to the native barramundi
and quandong (don’t ask, just eat).
Your meal will be served on a
viewing platform overlooking the
stunning Uluru-Kata Tjuta
National Park, where you will be
entertained by traditional dance
and Didgeridoo performances. As
night falls, you’ll be talked through
the mysteries of the southern night
sky by the resident astronomer.
We’re getting all starry eyed at the
thought of it.

8. Ithaa at Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa Maldives
There is no denying how breathtaking
the underwater view is at Ithaa, rated
“the most beautiful restaurant in the
world” by the New York Daily Times
earlier this year. Also boasting the
accolade of ‘the world’s first all-glass
undersea restaurant’, Ithaahas a
beautiful menu of dishes such as
Yellow Tail King Fish with Saffron
Champagne Risotto and Bruere Blanc
Foam. Translating to “mother of pearl”
in the Maldivian language of Divehi,
you can understand why this restaurant
was named after something so
beautiful.

9.  There are several hospital-
themed restaurants out there,
but none that deliberately serve
food so high in fat that they
actively welcome guests over
350lbs to come and eat for
free! From single to octuplet-
bypass (?!) burgers, which can
be layered with up to 40 bacon
slices, HeartAttack Grill is
bizarrely proud to hold the
Guinness World Record for the
Highest Calorie Burger, at a
whopping 10,000 calories! They
also have a vegan menu, which
consists solely of cigarettes.
Certainly a controversial
restaurant: from the fat content
to the nurse-waitresses who
spank you if you don’t finish
your meal!
Heart Attack Grill Las Vegas, USA

Baggers Nurnberg, Germany
Baggers is the world’s very first
rollercoaster restaurant. No, you
won’t have waiters bringing your
meal to you – here, the meals slide
down a series of winding metal
tracks to reach your table. There’s
no-one to take your order; you
simply tap and swipe your choices
on the tablets provided. With new
menus each week, you can keep
coming back for a different
gastronomic experience every time!

11. Kinderkookkafe – Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Hands up would you really trust
your children cooking meals for
you? Well, then how about for an
entire restaurant? Here at
Kinderkookkafe, the kids cook
the dishes, serve, write the
menus, clear up and even work
the till. Any child aged 0-13 can
get involved, and you can hire the
venue for your wedding as well!
Sounds sweet, but we think we’ll
pass on the play dough-flavored
pretzel.

12. The White Restaurant Batumi, Georgia
Originally designed as a joke in
2011, this topsy-turvy restaurant
was based on the American White
House… but simply reverted. Here
you’ll see tables, chairs, and even
toilets fixed to the ceiling, and you
can enjoy traditional Georgian
cuisine, such as Shashlik (kebab)
and Chashushuli (a type of ham
stew). The best part is, if you get
drunk, everything will turn the right
way round!

13. At. Mo sphere – Dubai, U.A.E. Gain some width at a height!
Hovering on Level 122 of the Burj
Khalifa – the world’s tallest building
– at a height of over 442m, At. Mo
sphere towers above its competition,
claiming the Guinness World Record
for the highest restaurant from
ground level. If you’re prepared to
endure some serious time in the lift
(seriously, bring a book), you can
look forward to incredible views of
the Arabian Gulf, as well as
Downtown Dubai and the world’s
tallest performing fountains. Hurry
though, as the long awaited Kingdom
Tower in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, looks
set to swipe the title at any moment.

14. Conclusion:
 If we would have not been very sick in the middle of the
week ( not a booze problem, we're both in our 60's and we
average one or two drink a day including wine- but
probably an hygiene problem) and not having seen our
only cockroach on our last morning, we would
have a better than "neutral" feeling about the place.
 Was raining the morning we left, and we could smell a
strong dampness smell in the room. Thank god it was dry
that week.
It's a solid 3 stars, with potential to be four
with improved maintenance and hygiene, a better toaster
and a sharper knife to cut the bread- super dull blade.
