SYNC’s CONNECTIONS
Sync recently met with Andy Abramson, a youth pastor in central Minnesota. Andy is faithfully reaching,
discipling, and mentoring young adults. His ministry expands across the United States as churches shared
their struggles to engage young adults with the Gospel. To resource this movement, his team began a
ministry to restore and launch young adults into their Kingdom purpose internationally. Abramson
believes Sync with God will be a key component to help young adult leaders encourage one another to
remain strong across geographical boundaries, besides discipling others through virtual small groups.
In China, authorities don’t allow people to assemble for church meetings. Filipe, a Millennial on the Sync
staff, traveled to China and said the Sync app would be very useful in allowing private, encrypted, virtual
small groups for evangelism and discipleship. We will encrypt the three channels of communication: video
chat, text chat, journaling with edit boxes. Think of the ministry possibilities for Sync with God in China and
other countries with high persecution, including India where we already have many contacts.
Larry Witherspoon’s Phoenix, AZ-based company, Connect To Your City, LLC (CTYC), a leading Multi-
Channel OTT streams media directly to viewers over the internet bypassing cable, broadcast and satellite
television. CTYC developed the Cyber Joy set-top box (Hot Spot) using wireless technologies to connect
internet-enabled devices to one access point within a home, which can download the Sync with God app.
The U.S. United African Community Chaplains decided to work with Sync with God, to manage the
communications, growth, expansion, and retention of chaplains domestically and internationally. Sync will
be a core App integrated into the initial 1 million Cyber Joy set top boxes distributed to 1 million TV viewing
households in Kenshasa, the capitol of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), beginning Q1 2020. The
population of DRC is 92 million plus. He’s looking to grow the Cyber Joy set top box distribution to 5 million
household in DRC within the next 3 years.
Witherspoon will be finalizing his software within the next few months, and will be sending the set top box
order to the manufacturer before the end of fourth quarter, 2019. Affordability remains one of the most
significant obstacles to internet access around the world, with 2.3 billion people living in a country (Africa
with greatest need) where a 1GB mobile broadband plan is unaffordable for individuals earning an average
income (Alliance for Affordable Internet).
All of us with Sync with God are excited for the possibilities ahead and are blessed with your support.
Thank you for keeping Sync in your prayers as we finish Phase 2 and move toward Phases 3-5.
