The document appears to be a magazine featuring articles about yacht design. The first page lists four upcoming articles: 1) An interview with SYD about translating residential design to yacht interiors. 2) An interview with Giovanni Costantino about his approach to yacht design and building business. 3) A feature on Bannenberg & Rowell's latest yacht interior projects Kaiser and Aurelia. 4) A case study exploring new designers Hot Lab and Van Geest Design.

New premium product brochure for the Buizen 52 pocket superyacht.
We developed this brochure for the first new Buizen model for over 13 years. At $1.2m it is at the top end of premium yachts - a beautiful craft hand-built built with a combination of the latest superyacht build methods and technology and the very best shipwright crafstmen.

http://www.grandbanks76.com - Dolcenera is a "carefully thought-out" boat.
The reworking of the design of the 72' ALEUTIAN began in October 2009 and was completed in July 2011, assisted by Architect Bertoni.
One of the main objectives was not to create a one-off, but to work on the basis of a tried and tested model (Dolcenera is hull no. 18), analysing and optimising existing vessels by introducing a number of improvements.
The result is a solid and reliable yacht with a line that could only have been traced out by Tom Fexas and a modern, comfortable and practical layout, built in keeping with the tradition and quality of Grand Banks.
Over the course of a good 14 months, a surveyor checked Dolcenera on a daily basis during her meticulous construction.
The boat features numerous improvements, including:
- a forward area with comfortable settees
- a large, partially covered flybridge measuring over 40 m2
- a much larger salon
- a cockpit with a table for 12 people
- a crew area, separate even during the day
- a day toilet on the main deck
- a redesigned and larger master cabin
The engine to be installed was the subject of lengthy analysis. In the end, two high-capacity engines (C18 ACERT) were chosen, although they have been de-rated to 873 HP so as to be able to travel continuously for over 1500 miles at a speed of 9 knots, as well as to complete rapid transfers at 18 knots.
Every detail of Dolcenera has been carefully thought-out for comfortable, reliable and flexible long-range travel.

Let’s Use the Ocean to Rescue Humanity from Global WarmingRob Tiffany
Let’s Use the Ocean to Rescue Humanity from Global Warming. In some parts of the world, temperatures are now testing the limits of human survivability. While governments and industry work to cut carbon emissions and suck CO2 out of the atmosphere, we need an action plan to save the people who don’t have time to wait. This is the moonshot plan Rob Tiffany proposed to DARPA in 2022 to help rescue the people most affected by climate change.

a ferryboat that used to link Sorel and Berthier in
the 1950s and that’s been renovated into a floating

waters between these two cities for 10 years. At

2. CONCEPTS
A
superyacht that is able to dive under
the water’s surface, a real hybrid or
crossover between superyacht and
submarine, is what the Hybrid 2021 Concept
is all about. Conceived on a yellow Post-it
note and then developed digitally, it is a
totally ‘out of the box’ concept for a new
type of superyacht.
The overall form of the Hybrid 2021
Concept, with her clean and organic lines,
includes two big units in the stern that
slide open on arrival at a destination or at
cruising speed and offer room for guests,
a patio sundeck, a gym and a garage for
toys and tenders. At the same time, the
roof hatch above the owner’s deck opens
up to let sunlight in and stays open as long
as the vessel is above the surface. The stern
of the yacht is where the swimming deck is
located, along with a beach club, which has
space for a lounge/bar and Jacuzzi.
The top deck is dedicated to the owner’s
use and provides a complete penthouse on
two private decks, with a hidden sundeck
forward complete with Jacuzzi. On the top
level there is a heli platform and a small
hangar to store the helicopter. Amidships
provides room for both the crew and guest
accommodation and includes a movie
theatre, an indoor swimming pool and a
gym studio. All doors and hatches that
are linked to the decks are double locked
and watertight, making the vessel secure
with the help of sensors and cameras when
diving. In the keel of the vessel, subsea
hatches and moon pools are able to
launch a mini-sub or divers to explore the
underwater world.
Above the surface, the vessel can
achieve speeds of 30-35 knots with the
top decks open, or an eco-mode cruising
speed of about 25 knots, with all decks and
the two big units in the stern open.
Hatches in the hull provide for power
regeneration through water braking and
riding the sea’s thermal convections.
Hydrogen and oxygen generators and
water makers will supply power, fresh air
and water. The vessel will be completely
‘green’ and powered by hydrogen fuel cells
and magnetic motors.
OK, it’s still a concept and there is a lot of
work and research to be accomplished, but
it represents a new way of thinking as to the
future direction of superyacht design.
In November 2011, Edwin van der Mark visited the
superyacht pavilion at METS in Amsterdam. While at the
show, he met Harley O’Neill of SuperyachtME, an ex-US
navy fast attack submarine navigator. They shared some
creative ideas on how to design a superyacht of the
future, with the objective of creating a concept where
submarine meets superyacht. Van der Mark outlines the
premise behind the 103-metre vessel.
