Sweeney Todd is an urban legend about a barber in London named Benjamin Barker, alias Sweeney Todd, who seeks revenge after being wrongly imprisoned. When he learns his wife poisoned herself, he vows to kill the judge responsible. Todd opens a barber shop and murders customers, sending their bodies to Mrs. Lovett's pie shop below. They are eventually caught and Todd is hanged while Lovett poisons herself. The story has been adapted into plays, films, and the famous 1979 Stephen Sondheim musical.
