It can lead to long-term joint damage, resulting in chronic pain, loss of function, irreversible joint destruction and disability. RA affects 1% of the Lebanese population according to the Lebanese Society of Rheumatology. The 2012 awareness campaign will highlight the importance of early diagnosis by detecting signs and symptoms of the disease. As part of the awareness campaign activities and to ensure that the campaign reaches all segments of the society, the flash mob comes as a visual message highlighting the importance of early diagnosis for people with RA so as to keep on dancing and enjoying life. Not only did it surprise and delight the mall shoppers who witnessed the ‘live’ version, the video has also gone viral via social media. This footage was filmed in ABC Mall Achrafiyeh. Credits: This project is organized by IRADA, a non-profit patient support group that focuses on Rheumatoid Arthritis awareness in Lebanon.
