A work achieved as a task project during a CareerFoundry user experience design course.
My slides of my presentation at WordCamp NYC. Unfortunately it was quite conceptual and wasn't able to show the cool stuff. This will happen in the next couple of months.
This presentation is about a handmade painting selling app. I have thoroughly done the user experience part such as competitive analysis, persona building, customer journey mapping, Task Flow, Scenarios, Wireframing, and Information architecture. Also included the ser interface part such as page mockups.
This project really helped me to strengthen my skills in UX and UI while doing a "UX Fundamentals online course"
How to ensure a long life span for a website (WPHelsinki 2.11.2016)Teemu Suoranta
How to create a WordPress site that will last and how to avoid mistakes that will come to haunt you later. This was my presentation in the WPHelsinki on 2.11.2016.
The Esri Vector Tile Style Editor helps you quickly and easily create custom basemap styles that match your brand and the type of apps you are building. Start by selecting an existing Esri vector basemap (e.g. World Street Map or Light Gray Canvas) and then begin customizing the layers from there. The edited styles are saved as items in ArcGIS Online. The ArcGIS Online Map Viewer or any custom application can then reference the item to display the basemap. Come to this workshop to learn how you can style your own basemaps using the Esri Vector Tile Style Editor.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

2. Key Findings on User
Testing
• 0% were aware of Vango prior to testing
• 70% reported they would use Vango again
• 60% missed the take photo feature
• 100% of users needed assistance with the take photo feature
• 30% missed the Search Bar
• 80% wanted the discover page to be the default page
• 100% wanted the search bar to be fixed
4. Title: Onboard 1
Notes:
• Consider changing
onboarding process to a
walkthrough of key
features with snapshots of
where they are located
instead of general overall
features of the app
5. Title: Onboard 2
Notes:
• Does the app recommend
art that matches the room
based on the colors? If
yes, include a line that
plays up this unique
algorithm of matching
artwork such as “We
provide recommendations
tailored specifically to the
colors in your space”
6. Title: Onboard 3
Notes:
• Consider changing the
image (i.e. fingers framing
art work)
• Change wording “See
exactly how the art will
look on your wall with just
a click”
7. Title: Onboard 4
Notes:
• Should types of art
available show up in a
more condensed way (i.e.
is it necessary to repeat
Vango three times) and
earlier in the on boarding
process?
• Should an optional quiz be
included with a few
questions on buyer’s art
tastes and needs for us to
provide tailored
recommendations like
Saatchi
8. Title: Curated
Collections
(Default)
Notes:
• All users felt that Discover
should NOT be the first
home page
• Many users were over
whelmed by options and
felt it was cluttered while
others liked layout
• To some users, it was not
clear who Danna Fainelli
was
9. Title: Discover
Notes:
• All users felt this should be
default page
• Many users missed the
search bar when entering
this page after coming from
the Collections page (they
automatically scrolled
down)
• All users wanted the search
bar to be fixed to top
• Many users missed the take
photo feature & many were
confused by what the
feature does
10. Title: Search
Bar
Notes:
• Many users like this
capability but missed this
feature
• Would like autocomplete
of words
• Add additional search
features such as color and
size (i.e. min/max width/
height)
• Add description of what
Small, Medium & Large
constitute
11. Title: Discover 2
Notes:
• When provided with the
task of searching for a
piece for their home,
many users default to
searching by these
categories but were
confused on how to sort
and filter each art work
after entering category
(i.e. browse through Mood
and wanted to filter by
price)
12. Title: Artist Followed
Notes:
• Users understood what
this page does
• Some users confused as
to why separate tabs for
New, Sold and Trending
Art are necessary and
would prefer to just have
them all in one feed
13. Title: Art on Wall
1
Notes:
• Once the photo feature is
used once, whenever we
enter the photo feature
from the “take photo”
button, there is no
indication to flip phone to
preview on wall
• Not clear throughout
entire app that this feature
exists. Many users though
it was necessary to click
photo button to default to
this view
14. Title: Art on Wall
2
Notes:
• All users needed help with onboarding of this feature
• Photo recommendations don’t match the small/med/large
• Some users wanted capability to adjust size against the
wall by zooming in on image
• Users could not see further details on the art after
selecting
• Unable to compare art in cart on wall
15. Title: Art Search
1
Notes:
• Photos actual sizes do not
match their relative sizes
displayed here
• Many users bothered by
art hanging from top and
empty space at bottom
• Many users miss favorite
buttons
• User want to be able to
filter selection and sort
16. Title: Product Detail 1
Notes:
• Some users missed the
size dimensions listed in
bottom left corner
17. Title: Product Detail 2
Notes:
• Higher quality photos
• “Rotate your phone”
message should appear in
more places; users miss
this feature
• More description of piece
and artist
• What does “ready to
hang” mean? – provide
glossary of terms for new
art users
• Some prints did not have
price listed
18. Title: Art in cart
Notes:
• Unable to preview and
compare these artworks
on wall
• Cannot select artwork to
get more details
21. Share Art w/
Friend
Notes:
• When sending art, friend
only receives a photo of
the art and no information
of the art
• The message does not
indicate who is sending
the recommendation (if
they read into the link they
can identify this)
22. Photo Details
Notes:
• This is all the friend
receives, no info on the
art or fact that they can
purchase this piece on
Vango
23. Referral Link
Notes:
• What if they do not want
to download app and want
to use the browser
version?
• Why is it necessary to
sign up to browse art and
view further details of
recommended piece.
