Google to push android tv can coexist with chromecastwww.apphtech.com
Google plans to launch a new Android TV set-top box platform while continuing to support Chromecast. Android TV and Chromecast can coexist by filling different needs - Chromecast allows adding casting capabilities to existing devices but lacks a full interface, while Android TV will provide a complete TV interface with recommendations and remote control but risks losing developer support. Google hopes to bring comprehensive app support to both platforms to allow them to harmoniously coexist.
Chromecast allows users to control their TV using their smartphone or tablet rather than a traditional remote control. While some argue this is inconvenient without an interface on the TV, Chromecast provides a new way to browse and search for content from multiple sources. As mobile device usage increases, especially while watching TV, Chromecast points to a future where phones and tablets replace remote controls by letting users instantly play content from their device on the TV. However, Chromecast currently only supports certain streaming services and more developer support is needed for it to fully replace traditional remotes.
Google launched the Chromebook in 2010 with the goal of completing all work within the Chrome browser using cloud computing. However, early Chromebooks had weak performance and limited functionality, making them unsuitable for most users. Major PC makers Lenovo and HP recently launched new Chromebook models, not because of Chromebooks' success but likely as a "protest" against Microsoft for releasing its own Surface tablets and entering the PC hardware market. Chromebooks remain difficult to succeed due to unclear market positioning and confusing product strategies.
The document discusses the advantages of the Kindle Paperwhite e-reader over reading on a phone screen or physical books. It notes that while the author originally preferred physical books, using a phone screen for reading was uncomfortable due to the small size and distractions. The Kindle Paperwhite provided a dedicated reading experience without these downsides, allowing the author to consume many more books while taking up less physical space.

Cloud computing allows Chromebooks to function entirely from the cloud, making them lightweight devices focused on web browsing and cloud-based applications. While Chromebooks faced challenges gaining popularity in part due to limited hardware configurations and single-purpose functionality, Google introduced them in 2010 as computers where the browser serves as the operating system, enabling complex tasks beyond just web browsing to be performed entirely online. Chromebooks aim to offer an affordable, cloud-focused computing experience alternative to traditional personal computers.
Google's Chromebook laptops running the Chrome OS operating system were initially unpopular products when launched over two years ago, but major partners like Hewlett-Packard and Lenovo recently releasing their own Chromebook models is giving the product line a "second spring" and showing Google's seriousness in competing in the laptop and cloud computing market.

zkStudyClub - LatticeFold: A Lattice-based Folding Scheme and its Application...Alex Pruden
Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.

Learn how they architected a solution that would simplify scaling while keeping costs under control.
Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.

Essentials of Automations: Exploring Attributes & Automation ParametersSafe Software
Building automations in FME Flow can save time, money, and help businesses scale by eliminating data silos and providing data to stakeholders in real-time. One essential component to orchestrating complex automations is the use of attributes & automation parameters (both formerly known as “keys”). In fact, it’s unlikely you’ll ever build an Automation without using these components, but what exactly are they?
Attributes & automation parameters enable the automation author to pass data values from one automation component to the next. During this webinar, our FME Flow Specialists will cover leveraging the three types of these output attributes & parameters in FME Flow: Event, Custom, and Automation. As a bonus, they’ll also be making use of the Split-Merge Block functionality.
You’ll leave this webinar with a better understanding of how to maximize the potential of automations by making use of attributes & automation parameters, with the ultimate goal of setting your enterprise integration workflows up on autopilot.

In the realm of cybersecurity, offensive security practices act as a critical shield. By simulating real-world attacks in a controlled environment, these techniques expose vulnerabilities before malicious actors can exploit them. This proactive approach allows manufacturers to identify and fix weaknesses, significantly enhancing system security.
This presentation delves into the development of a system designed to mimic Galileo's Open Service signal using software-defined radio (SDR) technology. We'll begin with a foundational overview of both Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and the intricacies of digital signal processing.
The presentation culminates in a live demonstration. We'll showcase the manipulation of Galileo's Open Service pilot signal, simulating an attack on various software and hardware systems. This practical demonstration serves to highlight the potential consequences of unaddressed vulnerabilities, emphasizing the importance of offensive security practices in safeguarding critical infrastructure.
From Natural Language to Structured Solr Queries using LLMsSease
This talk draws on experimentation to enable AI applications with Solr. One important use case is to use AI for better accessibility and discoverability of the data: while User eXperience techniques, lexical search improvements, and data harmonization can take organizations to a good level of accessibility, a structural (or “cognitive” gap) remains between the data user needs and the data producer constraints.
That is where AI – and most importantly, Natural Language Processing and Large Language Model techniques – could make a difference. This natural language, conversational engine could facilitate access and usage of the data leveraging the semantics of any data source.
The objective of the presentation is to propose a technical approach and a way forward to achieve this goal.
The key concept is to enable users to express their search queries in natural language, which the LLM then enriches, interprets, and translates into structured queries based on the Solr index’s metadata.
This approach leverages the LLM’s ability to understand the nuances of natural language and the structure of documents within Apache Solr.

Summary chromecast
1. Summary: Value for money, but more
suitable for Google device users
Generally speaking, because the price is very low, Google Chromecast
TV stick is still very worth buying, especially for users with the Google
terms of equipment and services. Compared to the short-lived Nexus Q,
Chromecast easier to use, but also allows users to easily play Google
music, TV and movie content on television, does not need too expensive
investment. For other users, the first Chromecast price is very reasonable,
but the performance and functionality is not strong enough, if you need a
portable small toys, or you can choose, otherwise have a more
comprehensive functionality of traditional streaming TV box is more
good choice.
