Science Based Evidence Based Practice in Ayurveda Remya Krishnan
Basic science should guide evidence-based practice in Ayurveda. Science, not scientists, should drive research, with an external board overseeing grants for science-based studies. Standardizing diagnostics and evaluating classical drugs requires quality research on diagnostic and treatment principles. Policy support is needed for science-based clinical trials to optimize practices for individual cases. True evidence-based Ayurvedic medicine applies scientific diagnosis and treatment principles to specific clinical situations, rather than just evaluating products. Basic science is key to evidence-based Ayurveda and optimizing practices through robust studies with wider applicability and reduced health inequalities.

Evidence Based Ayurveda - A new paradigm in clinical practice Remya Krishnan
This document discusses the importance of implementing science-based evidence-based medicine (SBEBA) in Ayurveda. It argues that Ayurveda's evidence comes from scientific principles rather than data alone. SBEBA must be core to medical education to improve patient care. The document contrasts SBEBA with tradition-based practices not grounded in science, and argues doctors should question conventional treatments and think critically based on scientific principles. Implementing SBEBA through training programs can help ensure treatments are scientifically intended rather than based on blind tradition or competition with modern medicine. Central and state government attention is needed to initiate SBEBA training in Ayurvedic universities, hospitals, and research centers.
