Description: Based on a hypothesis that money supply would be a vital aspect in aiding India’s rapid
economic growth, Banks would have to play a crucial role in terms of money supply via Loans. This
meant an increase in the Balance sheet of all the banks and hence a stronger investor interest as
compared to other sectors. The report was based on analyzing the state of banking sector stocks
which will drive the Bank Nifty Index in the near to medium term and measure its performance with
the benchmark CNX Nifty.
Statistical Research involved obtaining mean average returns for Nifty and Bank Nifty and Calculating
Variance of Returns, Observing Volatility in Options pricing etc.
