Gregor McIver recently spent several years teaching people to surf at Camp Surf in Manhattan Beach, California. Now he studies for his medical doctorate at the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine. Previously, Gregor McIver studied Spanish in Puntarenas, Costa Rica, through the University Study Abroad Consortium.

3.  The University Study Abroad Consortium
(USAC) offers students the opportunity to
study abroad in numerous countries
across the world. Although the
consortium itself consists of certain
universities across the United States,
students from any university can apply to
the programs. The USAC also offers
internships and service trips.

The USAC study abroad programs allow
students to fully immerse themselves in
the culture of their host countries and
broaden their perspective. The programs
include a diverse range of field trips to
little-known cultural and historical sites,
opportunities to experience social and
athletic events, and language
exchanges with local students.
