A group of six faculty members and five students from West Virginia University traveled to the Middle East from June 6-16 to recruit students, create new study abroad programs, and develop partnerships. They visited countries including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Oman, and Bahrain, where they saw the WVU flag flying at a medical school that has partnered with WVU for five years. The group also met with influential WVU alumni in the region and worked to create internship opportunities for students with major corporations in the Middle East. One student who went said it was interesting to see how people live differently and learn about different cultures.
