2. Today my topic is about The Patriot Act
It is an Act of the United states Congress .
It was signed into law by U.S President George W. Bush on October 26, 2001.
USA PATRIOT stands for Uniting (and) Strengthening America (by) Providing
Appropriate Tools Required (to) Intercept (and) Obstruct Terrorism.
The act, was a response to the terrorist attacks of September 11th & 2001
anthrax attacks.
It significantly reduced restrictions in law enforcement agencies' gathering of
intelligence within the United States.
Expanded the Secretary of the treaSury’S authority to regulate
financial transactions, particularly those involving foreign individuals
and entities.

4. Roving wiretaps, searches of business records (the "library records
provision")
Conducting surveillance of individuals suspected of terrorist-related
activities not linked to terrorist groups.
Federal courts have ruled that a number of provisions are
unconstitutional.
Key acts changed by Patriot Act were the Foreign Intelligence
Surveillance Act of 1978 (FISA), the Electronic Communications Privacy Act
of 1986 (ECPA), the Money Laundering Control Act of 1986 and Bank Secrecy
Act (BSA) & Immigration and Nationality Act.

Law enforcement agency raided on my house.
The agency had been recording my calls, emails, movement and much more.
They showed me proof.
Searched my house and office without warrant.
7. Q1) When your house and office was raided?
Ans: I was home one clam summer night. It was Sunday. I
was totally alone. In midnight when I was watching a
movie.
The next day they raided the workplace, It was in
morning.
Q2) What happened when they arrived?
Ans: They searched my house thoroughly. Each and every
bag, table, computer, TV and Cupboards were checked.
In my office, they confiscated my computer hard drive.
Q3) What you did in return?
Ans: I was not able to do anything. I could do nothing. I
could only sit and watch. i don’t even know their names.
8. Patriot Act provisions extended just in time
President Obama signs after Congress passes the bill.
Opposition to the government powers in the terrorist surveillance law brings together
conservative Republicans and liberal Democrats.
President Obama approved a four-year extension of expiring provisions of the Patriot Act.
Congress overcame mounting opposition from both parties to narrowly avoid a lapse in the
terrorist surveillance law.
Provisions expired at midnight Thursday Eastern time.
Administration had warned Congress that any interruption in the surveillance authority
would threaten national security.
9. The Provisions in Patriot Act expires after every few years.
The Provisions were again activated before expiring.
This renewal is called PATRIOT Sunsets Extension Act of 2011.
It extends three key provisions.
roving wiretaps, searches of business records and conducting surveillance of individuals
suspected of terrorist-related activities not linked to terrorist groups.
roving wiretap" which allows federal authorities to listen in on conversations of foreign
suspects even when they change phones or locations.
All of these government powers require an order from secret federal courts.
