Jesus meets his mother Mary along his journey carrying the cross. He is in great pain and suffering, which saddens Mary to see. As a mother, Mary feels her son's pain by looking into his eyes. Both were unable to speak because of their heavy hearts. The meeting highlights the love and disappointment that can exist between parents and children, but also the forgiveness and gratitude we should have for each other.

Pray the stations of the cross any time as a way to:
meditate on the life and death of Christ, seeking to,
“ … him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that if possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect; but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brethren, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:10-14)

We follow the steps of the saviour that led to the salvation of mankind. The fourteen stations of the cross are not just a time of walking and saying out words but a great opportunity for us to reflect in our lives about those small pains, transgressions and disappointments and remember that Christ our saviour went through much more to win for us eternal life in Heaven.
The Stations of the Cross is a walk with Jesus Christ as He went to His passion & death on the cross for our salvation. He rose again on Easter day and broke all sin & death for ever!

Journal One
[This is an excerpt from an A journal, 4,000+ words. The student is reflecting, not summarizing. He documents and demonstrates his reading of the text. Even if no quotation is used, documentation is necessary. With Tolstoy, there were no page numbers, so he used chapters.]
August 30th
Having only read Tolstoy from a philosophical viewpoint before, I was pleasantly surprised with this short story “The Death of Ivan Ilyich”. Something that I noticed throughout these first three chapters is that the root of Ivan’s unhappiness seems to lie in the lack of acceptance around him. Ivan seems to want his family to grasp the concept if his imminent death and respond appropriately. They don’t, however, and this fuels his bitterness. When he says “…no one felt for him, because no one even wished to grasp his position” (Tolstoy, chap. seven) I think that is a clear profession of what bothers him most about his illness. His sickness not only isolates him from other people like himself, but more than that, the people of his social class that surround him don’t make an effort to comprehend how his isolation must feel. Gerasim is the only one who doesn’t pretend that the circumstances are better than they are: “Gerasim alone did not lie” (chap. seven). That candid honesty is what brings Ivan some semblance of peace. It’s the mere acknowledgement of Ivan’s suffering that elevates Gerasim to a higher status in Ivan’s eyes.
It seemed to me that Ivan feels as if the people around him are ignoring not only his plight, but by association, Ivan himself. The inevitability of his death is being glossed over, and his family is pretending as if all will be well. Ivan’s impending death is the central aspect of his life, and when his family pretends that it is not even happening, it appears to result in the feeling that they are ignoring Ivan himself. He wishes to be “pitied like a sick child is pitied” (chap. seven) and no one is giving him that. His family is sugar-coating the severity of the situation, perhaps in an attempt to make themselves feel better about it, but in doing so, they are treating Ivan with borderline disrespect.
The daughter, Lisa, is “strong, healthy, evidently in love, and impatient with illness, suffering, and death, because they interfered with her happiness” (chap. eight). While this sounds so harsh and selfish on Lisa’s end, this was something that I understood perfectly. When I was a freshman in high school, I became good friends with a girl whose mother had cancer. I met this girl when her mother was in the late stages of her sickness, and for that reason, I never had the chance to meet the mother. One evening, while I was at a sleepover with my very best friend at the time, my father called me to tell me that the mother with cancer has passed away. Now, even though I had never even met the mom, I felt overwhelmed with guilt for having fun at this sleep.

Renewed in Grace
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Slide 1: Title: Exploring the Mindfulness: Understanding Its Benefits
Slide 2: Introduction to Mindfulness
Mindfulness, defined as the conscious, non-judgmental observation of the present moment, has deep roots in Buddhist meditation practice but has gained significant popularity in the Western world in recent years. In today's society, filled with distractions and constant stimuli, mindfulness offers a valuable tool for regaining inner peace and reconnecting with our true selves. 2. The Third Station
Jesus Falls the First Time
When
Jesus falls the first time, it is a humiliating experience. It
brings up the moral concern that sometimes; we put others down
with our harsh words. By judging and ridiculing others, we are
nudging them, contributing to their fall. Those people struggle to
stay on their feet, to get back up, and many times can’t do it. We
need to come together and stop hurting others, so that they have
the power to get back on their feet.
3. The Third Station
Jesus Falls the First Time
Psalm 31:11-12
11 Because of all my enemies,
I am the utter contempt of my neighbors;
I am a dread to my friends—
those who see me on the street flee from me.
12 I am forgotten by them as though I were dead;
I have become like broken pottery.
4. The Third Station
Jesus Falls the First Time
Reflection
Jesus falls for the first time while carrying the cross on his long
journey. He wore a crown of thorns on his head and was
beaten by the soldiers. He was so weak that he could barely
walk and he lost a great amount of blood. The soldiers, still, are
beating him cruelly and Jesus continues to fall.
Did you ever fall while you were playing, or fall when you were
helping with something? Falling hurts no matter how you fell.
Even when people make mistakes, sometimes they feel like their
falling. Can you remember a time when you fell? As you
remember that time, know that Jesus was there with you and
He will always be there. You just have to believe and let Him
know that you love Him and care.
5. The Third Station
Jesus Falls the First Time
I sat here one day and thought of my life.
I thought of the people who live as they die.
But then I thought of the people who don’t,
The ones who cry and should sleep, but they won’t.
They live their day as best as they can,
Going along with their daily plan.
I wonder what happens when they hit rock bottom,
Do they lie on their back and wish life hadn’t got ‘em?
On their knees they look up to a world full of hate
Yet decide to get up though it’s all they can take.
They wake up the next morning and don’t know what to do.
People laugh at the things they go through.
Instead of helping someone when they fall,
We tend to look down upon them and act so tall.
The sad part is it hurts us more than them,
We’ve become so misguided that we can’t be their friend.
So the next time you feel you’re falling apart,
Remember the kid who gave up his heart.
The one who fought through thick and through thin,
The one who was on the outside, looking in.
8. The Fourth Station
Jesus Meets His Mothers
As Jesus looks into his mother’s eyes, we can only imagine the
disappointment in him he must be feeling for letting her down. It is
hard to live up to our parents expectations, and a lot of the time we
resent them for it. We need to be more accepting, to both be proud
of our children and stand by them, and to understand our parents
only want the best for us. We forget that they love us, and we reject
their love. We have to be grateful for each other.
9. The Fourth Station
Jesus Meets His Mothers
Lamentations 1:12
12 "Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by?
Look around and see.
Is any suffering like my suffering
that was inflicted on me,
that the LORD brought on me
in the day of his fierce anger?
10. The Fourth Station
Jesus Meets His Mothers
Reflection:
Jesus came face to face with His mother on his
journey. Mary feels so sad to see Jesus suffering so
badly. They connected instantly and Mary felt her
Son’s pain just by looking into His eyes. They were
both unable to speak because of their saddened
hearts.
Have you ever been sad? Being sad can hurt
someone heart a lot, just like it hurt Mary’s heart to
see Jesus in so much pain and suffering. Remember a
time when you were sad and let Jesus help you.
Imagine Him loving you. You can ask Jesus to help
make your heart more like His. Knowing He is at your
side will help mend your heart.
11. The Fourth Station
Jesus Meets His Mothers
Kids these days are under so much.
Getting good grades, and such and such.
We have this pressure to be the best we can be.
We musnt let our parents down, you see.
They want the best for us no matter what,
So we do our best since that’s what they want.
But what happens when we do something wrong?
Are we forgiven, or looked down upon?
We’re not sure what goes on in their head,
When we forget to study or make our bed.
When we forget our faith, and begin to fail,
Do they pick us up and help us to prevail?
At times when we think that love isn’t here,
We look to our sides and see parents near.
It goes to show that whatever happens,
Parents are there through all the madness.
And when we think we’ve let them down enough,
It never shows, for they are tough.
We may argue and fight and even discuss,
But at the end of the day, they’re the ones with us.
