7. until one night, in my dreams, she softly spoke to me and said, “what you long for cannot be done, love cannot be forced on a heart.”
8. Rimasi attonita e perplessa, sapevo che era vero, ma quando si desi-dera qualcosa così fortemente le ragioni del cuore hanno il sopravvento su quelle della ragione. Astounded and confused I acknowledged the truth. However, when love is wished so vehemently the heart has its reasons of which reason knows nothing.
9. So I still waited, consumed with grief, recalling those brief instants of nearness.
10. I asked the wind to breathe my loving caress on him.
11. I wanted to become the night so I could watch him sleeping.
12. I sent him a dove as a messenger of my thoughts.
18. With the heart in a whirl I supplicated again, “Oh Star of the Orient, please make me a small cloud of smoke so I can see him for a moment, and then I’ll disappear!”
19. Once more the Star spoke to me in my dreams, “What you ask for exceeds the power of my magic,
20. but I can do something that may allow you to stay with him for a long time.”
21. And so she transformed me into a memory. Text: Gina Fazi Graphic Work: GiEffebis@alice.it Original pictures: Abraxsis Derjen English: mussonor@gmail.com
