The St. Lawrence Neighbourhood experiences disproportionate commercial break-ins and thefts from automobiles due to the many storefronts and mix of open parking lots. Between June 12th and July 9th, there were 6-10 commercial break-ins compared to 12-13 residential break-ins, with bars, restaurants, convenience stores and shops as main targets occurring between 10pm-5am. Investigators suggest business owners install security and activate surveillance equipment to help identify suspects.

• The St. Lawrence Neighbourhood is prone to commercial break and enters
as the majority of residential b and e’s take place in the north side of the
division
• Businesses such as bars, restaurants, convenience stores, and specialty
shops are the main targets of these crimes.
• They are predominately taking place between the hours of 2200-0500
• The modus operandi commonly involves either a brick through the window
of the business or the door being pried open with a tool
• Common property stolen at these locations:
– Cash, work computers/laptops, camera equipment, liquor, cigarettes,
• Victimized store owners have been suggested to install security bars, keep
minimal cash, and have computer equipment locked or not visible.
• Investigators have suggested to business owners to either purchase or
activate already existing surveillance equipment to assist in identifying
potential suspects
